Not recommended as it need major repairs

I would not recommend this resort .. it need major repairs.. front desk staff are very rude and no help with problem.. due that many local residents go to the resort on the weekend we could not find other room.. local residents get better service that visitors

Good for the price

Fairly good for the price. Food repetitive but always something to eat. Beach ok , 5 minutes walking distance , hotel not on the beach. Rooms quite old but ok to be there for a week. Staff quite friendly ...

VERY RELAXING AND ENJOYABLE WEEK

After deciding on a Last Minute vacation, our friends encouraged us to visit. I would recommend this resort to others. Most impressed with the overall staff which kept a high standard for us guests. Thanks especially to Rosa who changed our room for us. My only setback was the distance to the beach. I would like to recommend maybe a golf card, which would take especially seniors a part of the way. Hope to visit again.

Resort good

The resort was nice , clean, the pools very nice and the a la carte restaurants were great, but I didn't like the beach area at all, dogs everywhere, pedlars bugging you. I didn't feel safe off the resort.

Amazing people

The people were amazing. I enjoyed the shows. The resort was nice. I did not like the rooms. The rooms need a lot of renovations. We had no fridge and the TV was old with no colors. Beds and pillows were not comfortable.

Value for price i paid

food is ok you wont go hungry but room is very basic. The beach is nice no seaweed but beach is not private and locals leave garbage all over the beach. overall for price paid not bad but 2.30 hour bus ride not acceptable considering santo domingo airport is 45 minutes away.

Decent stay

We came with a large group of people and our room keys often didn’t work. Staff were persistent on getting tips as well. The beach was beautiful and food was nothing special. The al a carte restaurants were pretty good.

Beautiful resort

Food is great. Staff are friendly. Well maintained .lots of entertainment day and night Rooms are clean but bed was a little hard . overall a beautiful resort to vacation well definitely be coming back again.

Amazing Resort

Very well maintained Resort. friendly staff. Awesome entertainment day and night. Food was really good also the drinks. Beautiful scenery all around the resort, the rooms are clean and well maintained. The beds are hard but was managable. We did 2 tours was amazing and worth it. The beach and bar and buffet on the beach was amazing . Weather was Beautiful for the time we were there. Over all its a good bang for the buck. Would definitely go back again. I love the resort.

Nice resort

Hotel was older but very clean, grounds are very well kept, food was very good and staff were excellent. Downside to this resort it was right in the middle of town, and the beach was further away than was stated. also lots of stairs both in the complex and getting down to the beach, which is not good for some people.

Very Nice resort

We were very surprised for the price that way paid the resort was clean and the food was very good. The Italian restaurant was amazing. We were not as happy with the beach as the beach area is public. We would go back for sure

Not what we expected!

We were very surprised that the bus ride from the airport was about four hours instead of the 1.5 hrs as advertised. The grounds of the hotel were nice and well maintained. However, we were again surprised with the condition of the bathroom. We could only use the toilet sitting sideways because water was dripping from the ceiling. We also had trouble with lack of water pressures and intermittent warm water. The beach and swimming area were most disappointing because of the amount of garbage a [... lire plus]ccumulating on the beach and in the water. The beach was also VERY noisy with motorbikes and overly loud and persistent vendors. On the positive side, the food was good and varied. The staff was friendly. Overall, this is not a resort we would visit again.

2 Stars at Best

The hotel rooms were not ready for our arrival at 2:30. Check in is 3PM. This made for a very long day already including the lengthy bus trip from the airport. It's not too far an expectation that the restroom area at reception would have been clean. Of the 3 stalls available in the ladies bathroom, only one was clean. The men's bathroom was closed. Our room was in block 7. The kitchen area was dirty, the television didn't work, one of two beds were broken, there was no safe and no towe [... lire plus]ls. We called reception and told the front desk employee our issues and asked for a new room. We were told we didn't have to use the kitchen. We asked for a new room anyway. He called us back and we proceeded to the reception. The front desk employee asked if we were alright with a ground floor room and we were. We received a room in block 17. The room was much better but it did have its issues; the main one being the middle patio door could be pulled open from the outside even in the locked position. We didn't say anything because this room was much better than the last. The dining room was exceptionally clean however the tables needed to be cleared and re-dressed quicker. It was often difficult to find a clear table with fresh utensils and glassware. Ended up sitting at a dirty table and asked a female server for 2 glasses. She went to the nearest uncleared table and held 2 glasses up to the light to see if they were "clean". She then brought the two "clean" glasses over. We refused them. A male server later brought 2 glasses over. Although water coolers are available, bottled water should be available for purchase 24 hours a day. As we don't drink alcohol, we drink a lot of water and was at the mercy of the retails store's opening and closing hours to quench our thirst. Hotel guests should have been informed prior to confirmation of stay, that local residents would have taken over the pool and snack bar areas on Friday, Saturday and Sunday making it difficult to get drinks, find chairs or get a quick snack. We travel to the Caribbean for the beach. We were disappointed at the beach here. It was dirty with garbage everywhere, no evidence of grooming at all. The local food area on the right side of the hotel - empty their cooking oils and refuse into the sea. The sales people on the beach were relentless - worst we've seen in the Caribbean. We spoke to other Canadian guests who were also disappointed. We all seemed to be having the same experiences with our rooms and vowed that we would all speak up.

Great resort great location!

Overall it was a fantastic vacation. Food and drinks were great, grounds are beautiful but rooms need updating. Beautiful beach! Locals regular the resort so you get a chance to experience the DR world!

Bellevue Dominican Bay Hotel review

Overall, all was fine. No real hot water in the showers though, hot water tap also very low pressure. Also the main pool is currently under renovation, so that was a downer somewhat. These were my only minor beefs during my stay there during Nov 6-13/2016.

Terrible resort

The room was awful. The staff was nice and helpful. The food was terrible. There was no pool near the beach the beach was far away. The town is kind of scary. I would never go back there. I lost 5 pounds not eating

Don't drink the water and don't eat the food

The grounds and pools were beautiful and very well kept. The rooms are old and worn, beds are really hard and some people complained of mold in the bathroom (we did not have mold in our room). The staff were friendly. The entertainment was well done and full of energy. The food was terrible! The buffet was always the same with a few exceptions (example on Mexican night they had premade hard shell tacos as one of the dishes), the food was never hot and I have no idea how long it sat it the warmin [... lire plus]g pans. The food looked like it was just thrown together with no thought to display. The morning breakfast did not even have fresh orange juice just the watery syrup drink. We spoke with 9 different Canadians and all got sick with diarrhea.

Fabulous vacation

Bus ride was a long one from airport .Reception was great we arrived late evening and the staff sent us to the buffet for dinner before they closed then we checked in.Room was clean and comfortable air conditioning could have been cooler at night.Pool bars and restaurants were all wonderful.Pool bar staff served skewers of fresh fruit around noon around the pool was a nice touch.Animacion crew were fantastic.They were very good at getting everyone to participate both in the games at the pool and [... lire plus] the theatre in the evening.The bar staff at the theatre were very .The beach was a bit of a walk with alot of stairs but worth the walk the bar was good on the beach.The Nolitours staff from Air transat were very helpful.Overall was a wonderful vacation.
