Best relaxing time at the VH

This is the best resort to stay if you are looking to relax and enjoy the tranquility. Food is good. Entertainment is low profile. Rooms are quite nice and clean. Staff are doing an excellent job everywhere and make you feel welcome. I would recommend the upgrade to Superior room to have access to the VIP Lounge Bar. Pool for Royal guests is quite small...therefore I would not choose this option. Walk to the beach is about 5 min. + small shopping mall in walking distance too. Thanks to Na [... lire plus]thanael_Barman and Gabriel_Front desk...and everyone else in making my stay most memorable.

Rest and Relax

Hotel staff were excellent and friendly. Food was good and rooms were clean and comfortable. If your looking for a place to destress and relax this is the place for you. Only disappointment was the lack of night life.

Nice, clean resort.

We had a lovely time at the VH Atmosphere. It met our expectations in most ways. The beach was good, the pools were nice, the staff was very helpful, and the suite was spacious and clean. The food was not as good as we had hoped and the restaurants were closed several nights resulting in the buffett being the only option. We were there in low season. We were flooded out of our room one night but the staff responded immediately and helped us move to another suite. The views, privacy, cleanl [... lire plus]iness and ease of access to everything was excellent. The entertainment was bad and definitely must be improved. It is a quiet resort for middle-aged and senior couples.

Wonderful Resort

This resort was by far the cleanest and most well kept resort we have been to so far. The service was fantastic as well. Our room was lovely - lots of drawers and room to put your belongings so you are not living out of a suitcase. There was no musty smells at all. All fresh and clean smelling. There was the odd time where we may not get facecloth, but that's no big deal at all. The food was great. They are very conscious of the quality of food along with the care of it as far as ensuring tempe [... lire plus]rature was appropriate.

Very nice resort!

My friend and I went there for two weeks and we had a wonderful time. The resort is very well kept We found the staff extremely friendly and willing to please. The food here is very very good. I was impressed to see how management mingles well with the staff and pitches in to keep things rolling smoothly. The grounds are well-kept and constantly worked on. Really great staff with great customer service! I would highly recommend this place.

Great Time - Exactly What We Were Looking For In A Resort

We chose this resort for a few reasons. 1) we wanted a quiet resort with no disco and crazy parties happening..... haha I'm too old for that stuff. 2) I needed good wifi for work and the world juniors while I was there and finally 3) I wanted a gold course on site. I was thoroughly impressed with the VH Atmosphere. It delivered on all the pieces I was looking for and more. The food and service was great. The rooms were a little small but workable. But....all 3 of my critical points deli [... lire plus]vered perfectly. The atomosphere was very friendly but chilled out. The entertainment was good if you wanted to partake. The grounds are cleaned meticulously each day. The wifi is the best I've had in an all inclusive. The food was a great spread every day. Few minor things for improvement would be - 1) fix the pool table in the bar upstairs. It needs some love - all the bumpers are very old and for a couple of hundred bucks you could fix this up. 2) if you happen to miss the dining hours...so other options need to be provided. Whether that's a basic room service or something..... For example - After golf I missed the lunch buffet a few times and had to either walk to the beach to eat or wait til dinner. Same thing happened when we landed. But..those are truly minor things and not a big deal. Overal I was impressed and happy with my purchase and have thought about returning already!

Very good resert.

Room is very big and clean, towels are always available. Food, especially salads and soups is very delicious. Great facilities. Clean pool. always available seats and plates in the dining room. Only domestic drinks.

Relaxing

My wife and I visited the Atmosphere for 10 days in April and it was a very enjoyable 10 days. The staff is friendly and service was excellent. The food at the buffet was very good and the alacartes were also good, although we found the food at the beach bar lacking in selection and everything was fried. Our garden view room was a little small for my liking but it was kept clean and it was updated. The shower had lots of hot water and good pressure and the toilet functioned as it is intended to. [... lire plus] The beach is a short walk or you can take the cart free of charge. Also the little mall is about same distance away as the beach.My wife and I walked at night off the resort grounds and never felt worried. The resort has lots of security on their staff. We will definitely recommend this resort to anyone who asks about it and will consider reyurning next April

Awesome place

What a great place , people were awesome . The staff went out of their way to help and please you. The food was great and the buffet was very clean . The grounds are very clean and the view of the mountain and golf make it look for beautiful. It’s a quiet place so if your looking for late night fun you would need to go somewhere else. They could use more music playing during supper and in the evening, it would be a lot more enjoyable then playing bingo at 9:30 in the evenings. The walk to the  [... lire plus]beach was not as far as we thought it would be even though it was across the street,we walked further on other resorts and it was on the same side. The beds were great too all new and rooms had lots of space . I would go back any day 👍🏼

Quiet resort & plenty of relaxation

Quiet resort & plenty of relaxation is the only way to describe VH Atmosphere. We spent 11 days March 31 to April 10 & chose the upgrade VIP package & the Honeymoon suite. The hotel is small and very quiet. The Beach is a nice 8-10 minute walk & they also offer a golf cart (Choose the walk,You probably could use it. I know I did) The beach is clean a clear & offers you a VIP section, The VIP upgrade allows to access to a la carte (2) unlimited. the menu does not change but they have a good va [... lire plus]riety of food to choose from. The buffet is well stocked & changes every day and has a nice selection. The upgrade also allows you access to the quiet pool. And quiet it is indeed, hard not to fall into a relaxed state. Alberno & Freddy are top notch & at your service. The upstairs lounge is also VIP accessible & a great place to unwind even more Wally is friendly & welcoming. I would also like to say a very special thank you to Oliver our concierge. & a HUGE Thank you to Gregory with the grounds crew he does such an amazing job and far to often we forget to give credit where credit is due.

Excelent resort

it nice and excellent resort every thing well organized . only I can tell you the room service was not good . they didn't clean very well there was a lot of small spiders and small worms. that we killed a few every day even they didn't cleaned some of that beside or under the bed. I hope you will take care of that .I hope so.

Small but very relaxing

We booked this resort from Monday to Monday. The food was good. You could find something that you liked in the buffet. The resort got flooded out on Thursday night and we had to evacuate on Friday because of a rain storm. The staff was amazing during this crisis and made sure that everyone was looked after. We were disbursed to other resorts. The one we went to, the rooms didn't come close to the VHAtmosphere nor did the beach. Because of the amazing staff our vacation turned out great.

Very happy

Hi, we were pleasantly surprised with our accommodation at VH Atmosphere. Staff were super friendly and pleasant. Food was proportionate to the number of people and was of good quality, well cooked and tasty. Resort was clean ... only criticism would be the beach. The area for our hotel was quite small and there were a lot of vendors.

Fresh and luxurious resort

This resort was beautiful and new and great price for what you get. Good trip for relaxation.. older crowd and no night life. Would not go if you are young or looking to party. Amazing a la carte meals And good buffet. Gorgeous rooms and pool and views. Restaurant and bar on the beach is also great.

3 star at best

Returned Feb 10, 2018 Pros: Small resort and nice and quiet. No loud entertainment. Beds new and comfortable. VIP bars very quiet. Staff qualities keep the resort acceptable. Good walking around Playa Dorada. Cons: Poor management. Refurbishment was generally a repaint and repair according to past guests. Resort needed some color and character since it was mostly white. Internet OK for us but not working in other rooms according to other VIP guests. Staff generally afraid to identi [... lire plus]fy problems and suggest changes to management even though they were confused as to the reason for management requirements and could easily see failures of management expectations. VIP upgrade a waste of money. VIP Bars have very poor selection of available liquors. Most of the time no Brandy, Grand Marnier, Baleys, Grey Goose, Triple Sec, Cognac, Kahlua, Contreau, Tia Maria and others. At best, only one VIP bar would have one item while the other would not. Items would constantly have to be transferred back and forth. When bottle was empty no replacement available. Ordering should be by case not bottle. Liquor control questionable since had to provide room number and sign for all VIP drinks despite distinct wrist band. VIP bars were not identified to non VIPs and thus caused confusion to non VIP guests. Bar Management personnel need training. Luxury rooms needed furniture. Room Service is available but there is no table or chairs to eat from. No desk or chair for laptop work. Room echoes due to lack of furniture. Bathroom is basic at best. Check out was supposedly at 1pm but keys stopped functioning at noon causing many couples to have to renew key to reenter room and get luggage. Toilets used high volume (5 gallons) but needed at least 2 (3 to 5 normally) flushes to clear bowl. Replacing with efficient 1.5 gal toilets could save money on water costs. Buffet restaurant has limited selection as expected for small resort but meat courses were frequently exhausted and could take up to 1 hour prior to replenishment. At 75% full the buffet was generally completely full with people waiting, even with extra tables being set up outside. A la Carte restaurants were always fully booked by 10am. Extra VIP services such as Fruit platter on arrival, turn down service and chocolates were inconsistent at best. Had to ask to get ours after 4 days and even then, only got perks about 50% of time. Stated Concierge gift was not provided to any one unless the guest asked. On the last day I asked and was informed that it was a professional photo shoot (I guess it had to happen in Canada since we were leaving). Beach Bar was highly disappointing. Food selection was poor and inconsistent. Cuba 3 star at best. Only one non VIP bar usable during the rain and it was only open during the dinner hours. One VIP bar was enclosed. Overall we enjoyed ourselves since we had a break, but, I think that for the cost there are many better choices available. Although this hotel has just been refurbished my impression is that it is under the same management as before. This makes the shortfalls less of a growing pain then, poor management and organization. I tend to believe that the VIP upgrade was an experiment that will not last.

Just the best

All the grounds were kept up great The food was great and kept clean the rooms were great and neat, but the floors and counters could have been washed more often The Hotel staff were great and helpful The reno done on this place was top notch! It definitely was a 4*.............

Small and quiet

This is a renovated/new small and relatively quiet hotel. Check in was quick and a shuttle golf cart to the room. 3rd floor, no elevators. One main sidewak down the middle with buildings on either side. Our room was basic: bed,bathroom,tv, dresser, small closet, and keyless safe, clean. There were other room choices with more room etc.Housekeeping quiet and friendly,as well as grounds and building staff. The buffet was ok. Clean, organized, but needing some guidence for improvements. Selection [... lire plus] was ok, not great. Pool at first sight was a let down but much bigger once you got in. Down fall, no hand rail into pool and saw an older gentelman fall. Usually enough chairs if some go to the beach. Enertainment staff around pool were fun but not annoying. Some music choices didn't suit the crowd. Not a party hotel. English and oldies more enjoyable, not discusting lurics of some played. Bars had good staff, no line ups, no favourtism. Beach was just ok. Chair area crowded on hot days. Water dirty with rolling water. To get to the beach golf cart shuttle down the street and drop off to a lengthy walkway to beach. Not for those with limited mobility. Grill and bar at the beach. Two A La Carte restaurants, both very good food, menu a little miss leading sometimes. Night entertainment ok. Some trivia, music, games etc. No shows but this is probably better. Open wheelchair ramp to coffee shop has no railing or baracade, could be a problem. WiFi seemed to work for most people. VIP pool and bar seldom used, could use that area for something else. Overall a good hotel. To be noted!! Puerta Plata airport is now taking fingerprints when you check in with your pasport. Made many very uncomfortable!!

Very quiet resort

We very much enjoyed our stay at this resort. The service was great, the staff was great, the food was great, the pools were "refreshing" ( a little too cold for me) The beach was a bit of a walk away, and the shuttles that were supposed to be provided were often not there. I came home with small bites from head to toe. If that was sand flees from the beach then it would be the same for all resorts. There was not very much entertainment but understandable for how new the resort is. If you are  [... lire plus]looking for a quiet place to relax, I highly recommend.

Okay Resort

The VH Atmosphere was a nice modern resort. Very clean. Nice people but everything closed at 12:00am. Meaning, no food or drinks. Being that it's an adults only resort, it seems strange. The cleaning lady came at 8am to clean the room. We were still sleeping. This is too early. They need to adjust the times. The food was the same almost every day and the bee's and flies were bad. The international and italian food was very good. (Al-a-carts). They still need to figure out things to make it bette [... lire plus]r. The resort opened December 15th, 2017.
