There is good and bad.
Resort was empty, maybe to do with the Corona virus or just how m\bad service is.
Rooms were clean and beautiful and air conditioning worked great.
Service was not good!! Half the resort was not even functioning everyone was complaining. We paid full price but only half the amenities were available. There were two buffets open at different times of the day that were not buffets that we have ever seen before. We were told they are trying something new called Micro buff[... lire plus]ets in which they have tiny portions of salads and carrot sticks. It was awful no choices hardly at all. Says 11 restaurants on their site and casino onsite. Nope buffet and it was impossible to get an a la cart as half were closed for the whole week and no casino onsite, all I was told is ya we have to update or site!
It's really to bad as the resort itself is so nice and the beach is great but will not go back

Under Renovations Do not book
The grounds were amazing and the beach and pool was great, but the reason we booked this location was they advertised 11 restaurants and a buffet with very few reservations required. What we found was the restaurants were under renovations and only three were open a day. All required booking in advance. The buffet was very small and even that changed locations. The staff was not helpful and tried to avoid discussing where there was food available because they themselves didn’t know. Do to[... lire plus] staff shortages very few bars were open and our room only got cleaned twice in a week. Very disappointed.

8/10
Would recommend this resort to anyone over 30 years old. What I would have liked more of is a better disco/entertainment. The resort wasn’t very busy but it was very relaxing. The reserve pool was empty which was where we stayed so we felt like we had it all to ourselves. The service was outstanding (food/drink/room service). Ate at bana (Japanese) two times and love it. Also really enjoyed Fuego. Wouldn’t recommend the steak house as it wasn’t anything too special. The beach is beautiful [... lire plus]and not too busy to grab a bed or a chair. I’d go back again for sure.

Great vacation
We had a great time at Paradisus. We visited with our 4-mo son. Staff were incredibly friendly, loved getting our baby to smile, and provided us with a crib and a baby bath. The grounds were gorgeous and very well kept. The food was great - lots of selection, surprisingly good lunches, fun experiences at the a la cartes. The beach and pool were both great, and it was easy to get tiki huts and chairs. We also paid extra for a family photo shoot with Carla and the photos were incredible - highly r[... lire plus]ecommend! The room itself was a bit dated and the view from our balcony left something to be desired (looked onto a neighbouring resort) but the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. Overall, we were incredibly pleased with Paradisus! Best Pina colada I've ever had!

Staff goes above and beyond: front desk noticed my daughter's birthday just passed and left cake and champagne in our room. Beautiful beachfront property and lots of pool chairs. Lots of bars with non alcoholic options as well!

November 2019 in Punta Cana
Although we had a fantastic time at this hotel, there are a few things that need improving.
Check in: Gorgeous lobby as we stepped up to the check-in counter we thought to ourselves how great, no line-up. However it took at least 1/2 hour until someone finally got us checked in - not acceptable!
Finally shuttled to our room and luggage set inside. Room looked nice and clean however we had an issue with the bathtub draining - this was resolved quickly. The other issue was the dresser. [... lire plus]couldn't be bothered complaining however the drawers didn't work properly so I just left one of them out for easy access. So they really need to upgrade some oft the rooms.
Our concierge was very friendly, along with almost all of the staff. we truly enjoyed the buffet along with nightly entertainment. The Hibachi and Mexican also very good however the food from the Italian and steakhouse, not good! We stuck with the buffet for the rest of the trip.
When mentioned we were celebration our anniversary, it was emntioned a surprise in our room the day of, well the surprise was on us, nothing! Not that we expected anything however it would have been a nice add-on.
Will definitely visit the Dominican again, however not this hotel!

1ST TIME ALL INCLUSIVE VACATIONER
First of all, I want to give a big thank you for Natausha's service. She answered all my questions in a timely manner, reassured me of my doubts, all while being polite and understanding. Because of Natausha, my trip went perfectly! This was my first time doing an all inclusive so I was not sure how it would go, what was included, excursions, etc. When I told my peers of the amazing service and deal I got on this trip, they all wanted to know how. I will always use tripcentral and Natausha for [... lire plus]all future bookings. Thank you again Natausha. God bless her!

Fun resort
We had a 4 night stay. Thank goodness we decided to upgrade to Royal service. We ended up in building 1 which is situated very central and right at the beach. The food was just ok but as a royal service guest we were entitled to eat in La Palapa which we really enjoyed.

Another amazing vacation!
Third visit to the Paradisus Punta Cana. Highly recommend the Royal Service and if you do ask for Alex as your Butler. The beach is very clean and both the private pool and beach are very close to the suite. All of the restaurants offer very good food. A number of them are open air restaurants so make sure you use some OFF because the mosquitos can be bad. Aside from that looking forward to returning again next year.

Great All Inclusive Resort in Punta Cana
This was an excellent all inclusive resort, with amazing grounds, beach, and restaurants. The food was better than any other all inclusive resort we have been to. I was especially impressed with the VIP Royal Service "lapalapa restaurant". The drinks were good too! I really liked the friendly staff as everyone was well trained and very friendly, going above and beyond the call of duty. The affiliated golf course was fine, and we even ventured to the other Palma Rheal Paradisus resort whic[... lire plus]h was an hour long walk on the beautiful beach. The lady that was on site the week of the 14th in charge of the fitness was also excellent by conducting Tabata fitness session on the beach. Thanks Paradisus for a great holiday

Great resort
We had a wonderful vacation at Paradisus Punta Cana, due largely to Argenis, who did a superb job of making sure that all of our wants were fulfilled at the pool. Drinks, towels, snacks and even lunch were delivered right to our decadent cabana bed. Argenis made sure that we wanted for nothing. Jose Durand and Yuleidi Rosa provided friendly service in The Gabi restaurant. We appreciated the cleanliness of all spaces, beautiful gardens and ponds. The flamingos and porch swings in the lobby w[... lire plus]ere a nice touch. We had almost flawless meals in all the restaurants we tried. Our bed and pillows were comfortable and we love the oversized fluffy towels. Attention to small details throughout made us feel welcome.

Paradisus Punta Cana Group Getaway
Found this property very big but quite nice. The walking was hard for some as the huge cobblestones made it uneven so the hips took a beating and anyone with leg problems would find it difficult. However they do have a trolley that goes around quite often which some of us took advantage of specially from lobby area back to buffet or pool area.
The two buffets were side by side which seemed different and very, very small for such a big resort . Plus they both basically had same thing in the[... lire plus]m each day for food. Myself personally only got to one a la carte...The Grill. Rib eye steak would have fed both my husband and myself. It was huge. Some others in the group went to the Japanese and one of the others, so they will speak to those I am sure. Overall food wasn't bad but didn't find enough variety I guess. We seem to be hit and miss on the pasta station which is a usual go to for us.
Pool was nice , beach was nice but red flag was up last few days as it was pretty windy and rough.
Entertainment was good....I didn't go to see any theater shows as they usually all seem the same to me after awhile....word had it that Michael Jackson was extremely good though. They had the silent dance party with headphones for the first time at that resort while we were there. It was great fun. We have experienced this before and always loved it at other resorts. Of course the anticipated foam party is always a hit as well. Beach Party was great and the disco we took in one night on the beach. our last evening they had a violinist and she was really good...we really enjoyed her talents.
Oscar was one of the first entertainment people we had met. Some of our great servers at Gabi Beach were Yuletide, Bethania, Tavares and Christiano. At the North Bar Lobby was Yesica Perez. not to leave out the most important was Willis and Argenis at the pool bar. All the people were great that worked there though.
We had changed rooms actually after a couple of days as we were having trouble in first room with hot water for showering. But the bell boys were super helpful in taking our luggage and helping carry our clothes on hangers to hold on the trolley and change rooms.
We were a party of 6 in our group but met friends that consisted of 8 then 2 more in that group showed up before we left . Plus we met a couple that is local to us and made a new friendship that we can carry on with hopefully. All in all it was not a bad resort but not sure if I will go there again anytime soon.

Almost a 5+ Star
Paradisus Punta Cana is a lovely resort. The grounds and services are best on the island (been to DR 14 times). I have stayed at this resort 9 times over the years and watched the renovations and upgrades improve this resort greatly. However, the food has consistently gone downhill. The buffet is smaller, less options and and the restaurants just passable. I would also recommend only doing Royal Service for bungalow location and services of their lounge, butler and reserved pool and beach a[... lire plus]rea. The food service by the pool is excellent and menu items there are not found anywhere else so a must do.

Too large and not consistent with service
Start with the positives: beautiful grounds, very clean, food quite tasty, large beach, and nice bartenders.
Negatives: checking in at 10:30 pm took almost an hour and a half and we were the only ones there ( 6 in our group) that is one of the reason I wanted to fly in the pm rooms should have been ready, resort too large for us, were refused ala cartes they said they were all booked, but they weren’t, when our friends arrived the next day they had no problem booking the ala cartes ( fig[... lire plus]ure that out)only 2 buffets for such a huge resort, also one or the other was closed a closed a couple of nights because of large bookings so sometimes had to wait ( not impressed)reported to air transat rep the front desk had know knowledge we were coming he said he would take care of it and they didn’t even know we were even there when we checked out. First day no room cleaned, had to ask, no turn down service at all, no chocolates, no rum in our room asked 3 times (our 6 friends that arrived the next day and received it). Was refused once by the trolly for a drive to the lobby he said to me it was only a 2 minute walk and drove away. It was no 5 star too us, not enough chairs by the pool, a lot of chairs at the beach should be chucked out

Overall good resort, beautiful grounds
I can understand why this resort gets mixed reviews after visiting for a week, HOWEVER, overall it is a very nice resort with the most beautiful grounds we have ever seen at an all inclusive.
This was our 8th all inclusive from various islands in the Caribbean, so lots to compare too.
We stayed mid January in just a regular room (no royal service, no reserve)
GROUNDS
Like I said above, it really is so beautiful here. The resort is huge, as most people mention. There are lots of tro[... lire plus]lley cars you can take if you don't feel like walking, however we always walked as it was so peaceful and serene. (Really only takes about 10-15 minutes to get from beach to lobby). We had a stroller with us, so we would often take the outer (smoother) walkway around the resort (especially when baby was sleeping) as all other paths are cobblestone.
FOOD
I can honestly say that anyone that complains about the food is just not being rational. Of course you are in a third world country so
63 the food is not going to be as you used to in your home country. But, we all found the food great.
For breakfast you will want to eat at Gabi Beach Buffet. We always had full plates of food. You can get your eggs any way you like with the cook, plenty of bacon, sausage, hash browns, fruit, cereal, pastries, cheese, and other items. Loved the fried plantain and grilled tomatoes.
For lunch, Naos buffet is better than Gabi. We often found so much food we liked that we would go back to the table with 2 plates. So many salads to chose from. (someone complained earlier about the salads and that you cant trust them, I don't know why they said that). All the food is kept in an indoor room, and it is kept quite cool, so we never had an issue with anything. Lunch also included a variety of cooked fish and meats, vegetables, fruit, cheese, deli meat, you could also get a pasta made at the pasta station. There was also hot dogs, and hamburgers too. Loved the onion rings and calamari!
THE RESTAURANTS
Feugo - not too bad. Probably our least favourite. Had the Mofungo and it was quite good, also sushi and maki were just okay.
Bana- very good Japanese meal. We had a lot of fun at the table and the meats, salmon and shrimp were cooked to perfection.
Mole - our meals were just okay, but the nacho chips they bring out at the start were great.
Vento - one of our favourites. Menu selection was great. Osso Bucco was amazing.
The Grill - Juan provided great service. Really nice selection on the appetizer bar. We ordered the family platter for 2 and it was great.
We did not eat at Aqua due to the other reviews about the food being the worst on the resort, and the mosquitos.
Passion - we splurged for a date night here. It was one of the best meals we have ever had anywhere in the world. Service was spectacular, and the food was incredible. You have to have an open mind, and familiar with fine dining to eat here though. The 8 course meal was $80 US per person and we did the wine pairing for $40 US per person. (Well worth the wine pairing)
We are lucky friends of ours arrived at the resort a few days before us so they were able to pre-book all the restaurants for us at a reasonable time since we had a baby. It did seem hard to make reservations if you don't pre-book. One of my complaints is that I had emailed the resort 10 days before arrival to reserve and they never got back to me even after a follow up email.
POOLS/BEACH
We enjoyed most days at the main pool near the bar. The pool was great, nice and big, and lots of beds. We met the most amazing bar tender ARGENIS who took care of us all week. What an outstanding human being! Never let our drinks get empty.
The pool only had a few moments of loudness, so it was mostly on the quieter side compared to some other resorts we have been too.
One day we reserved a cabana on the beach for $35 US which included service, and a bottle of champagne. We found this well worth it since we had a baby and it was a lovely spot for him to nap. We brought over some loungers and it was a wonderful relaxing day. The beach itself was very nice, clear, warm, and clean. They come by and clean up the seaweed. There are a lot of vendors that walk by on the beach trying to sell you things, or excursions, but we kindly told them we weren't interested and they don't bother you. The loungers on the beach are not good. Probably in the worst shape out of any resort we've been too. The resort needs to upgrade these. Of course there are separate areas on the beach for royal service and reserve which both have nicer beds/loungers with padding.
ROOMS
This was one of our biggest disappointments. Like I said, we did not upgrade so we just had a regular room. The layout didn't work so great since we have a 11 month old who is crawling and there are 2 stairs in the room that go down to a sitting area. Made it a bit challenging with him. The beds were just okay, and the other furnishings are outdated. The room had a "cold" feel to it, not tropical or welcoming at all. Im sure the royal service and reserve rooms are nicer, but it would be good if the resort upgraded the regular rooms. On a positive note, we had an issue with the AC and the toilet and they sent someone to fix both within 30 minutes. We were in building 5 which was the absolute best spot for pool access, and only a 2 minute walk to the beach. Room was also not very clean.
SERVICE
We were slightly disappointed with the service at the Gabi buffet, and some of the restaurants. We had good service at Naos for lunc, shout out to Maria. It's too bad the service staff don't pay more attention as we ALWAYS tip at EVERY meal, and a lot of them missed out on what could have been a higher tip.
Room maid service was great for us (but we tip high on the first day for the maid the fridge attendant then continue to tip throughout the week) Goes A LONG way.
Aside from Argenis, we found the service to be mediocore throughout the resort.
OTHER NOTES/TIPS
- upon your arrival there will be a "concierge" in white who will come to talk to you and tell you they are there for you to answer any of your questions etc. But, they are just trying to get you to come to the time share breakfast at another resort. Kindly tell them you are not interested and they will leave you alone.
- They claim to be an Eco Resort so there are no straws with drinks
- There are a lot of costly "upgrades" at this resort. Ie. higher shelf alcohols (back bar stuff like Patron, coronas etc. drink packages, room service is $5 US per visit, cabanas on the beach)
- If you're going to drink red wine go for the Cab Sauv, the Merlot tastes like grape juice.
Overall, we liked the resort, but didn't see much difference between this resort which compared to some lower priced resorts we've been too.
