Nice resort

I found the food very very good, the hotel's grounds and rooms very clean. The gardens lack plants, planters and flowers though. The staff are very friendly but management didn't go out of their way to greet and welcome guests even though they had a cocktail party where we were all invited but I didn't see management mingle nor did I recognize who they were if they were there. The Sunwing rep. Was very helpful and made a point of being at the hotel often, he was amazing! They only things that we [... lire plus]re missing that I feel is important is nightly entertainment/DJ and comfortable use of the beach. Most Guests that come from cold countries want a beach that is "usable". The beach was beautiful and very clean. A small building where you could sign out a lounger or mat and beach towels would have been great. And a bar on the patio that is overlooking the beach would have been awesome. I would only recommend this hotel to a friend if they wanted a quiet resort and if they didn't find that nightly entertainment or a DJ important to them. Also this is not a hotel for people who have mobility problems as there are lots of stairs

Beautiful island

This hotel is 25 years old and showing its age, it needs some upgrades badly. The door keys wouldn’t work half the time, cold water for showers, bricks missing off the wall around the pool. The lounge covers are dirty and need replacing badly.... with that being said the food was good with lots of options, rooms clean with comfortable beds and a great ocean view! Service was definitely not up to par, in fact it was horrible other than 2 servers Neisha and jaimime. The buffet lady Sandra was e [... lire plus]xcellent as well as Danielle in the bistro. Euro from the pool bar tried his best but he can’t speak English so that was a challenge lol the island is beautiful I would give the resort a 3, but with that being said I would return!

Average Resort

This resort was very average to us. The buildings and décor are very dated and in need of attention although it looks like they are trying due to the freshly painted white railings etc. Our room was the upgraded oceanview room and was very spacious. Bathroom is dated and at first I thought the shower tap lever was rusty but my husband thinks they are using toilet bowl cleaner to clean them and it has removed the finish. Either way, it looks very bad. The counter had a vessel sink on it and unde [... lire plus]rneath was a lip pencil that belonged to someone prior to us. The bed had what looked like one of those egg carton mattress pads on it or some other mattress pad type thing and it was lumpy and kept moving around. Very weird. Upon check-in they tried to say we purchased a breakfast only package when in fact we purchased all-inclusive. I set them straight pretty fast and they immediately rectified it saying someone must have made a mistake upon entering our reservation. This resort is advertising by Sunwing as having wifi throughout and that is UNTRUE! The wifi only worked in the lobby and spotty at the pool. There was no wifi in our room despite the fact we saw routers right outside our balcony. Also you had to carry around the username and password with you because you had to completely log back in everytime instead of it automatically detecting it. Inconvenient. The atmosphere was non-existent. This was the deadest resort we had ever been to. There was literally six people around the pool at any one time. There was plenty of pool loungers (with old dirty pads) to go around.....no need to lay your towel down at 6am at this resort. The pool itself however was very clean from what we could see. There was a swim-up bar that was manned part of the time. Getting a drink was a chore. We ran into one guest who went to the inside bar to get a drink and they told him to go to the swim-up bar which wasn't manned. There are no activities whatsoever here....only a pool table in a bar that had zero atmosphere and was freezing cold. There are no all-inclusive water sports like there are at other all-inclusives. The beach is nice although I've been to better. It is accessible via quite a number of steps down the back of the property. The food.....we found no problem. It was not overwhelmingly wonderful but not bad either. The vegetable pizza and shrimp bisque were beyond amazing. The buffet is very small...usually 5-6 dishes. We had white house wine with our dinners and it was quite good. Most of the staff was nice. Krystal at the swim-up bar was great and so was Crystal at the inside Breezes bar. Rianna has a standoffish demeanor....not attractive. This is a new resort for Sunwing and all-inclusives are new to Tobago. Our Sunwing rep...Randall....was fantastic, I must say!! But Sunwing….this is not the type of all-inclusive resort that people are used to.....you need to get ahead of that or people won't return. This is not a 4-star resort in our eyes...3 maybe with caution. If you want a quiet average holiday then come here. If you want an exciting activity filled holiday meeting lots of new people etc.....don't come here. Tobago on the other hand is beautiful!
