Daytona Beach Resort: Needs more attention to detail

This is a pretty old hotel like most of Florida hotels. Here is a list of good and bad points. Good - Large bathroom - 4 swimming pools - good location - good kitchenette with fridge, microwave, sink, 2 burners and dishes - sufficient parking in the parking garage - good wifi Bad - The hotel charges $15 US plus tax per day for a resort fee which covers wifi, parking, room cleaning. It should be included in the price of the package, not charged separately since it is a mandatory cha [... lire plus]rge. - Ancient A/C which doesn't work efficiently and is very loud - No safe in the room which is standard in almost every hotel nowadays - Beds and pillows are lumpy and need to be replaced - Housekeepers came to our room around 2:30 PM every day even though we asked for them to finish by noon. Our room was only properly cleaned once in a week. - Pools could have been cleaner. I never saw anyone clean them all week. - Super slow service at the front desk. Check in was 4 PM and we didn't get our room until 5 PM despite the fact that we let them know that we arrived at 1 PM. We didn't expect to check in early but did expect to be in our room no later than 4 PM. We had an Oceanview room with a balcony that you could stand on but was too narrow to accommodate a chair so pretty useless. The Oceanfront rooms appeared to have full size balconies. One other way that the hotel could be improved would be to have a dedicated adult pool outside and have the entire pool/bar area smoke free. There were a number of people with screaming kids that obviously did not respect anyone else that was at the pool. The smokers at the bar were right next to the tables where people were eating lunch. Also, there were dirty ashtrays at the non smoking pool. One of the staff should be monitoring the people at the pool at all times as everyone ignores the posted rules.

Oceanside Inn: Great time in Daytona Beach

we have always vacationed in the Caribean all inclusive resorts. this time we went with a Sunwing package to Daytona Beach and loved it. Great weather and what a beach! the Oceanside is a clean hotel and for the price we paid it was great. Lots of food and bars in the area. will do it again.

Oceanside Inn: Good Resort

Nice location, Access to beach from Resort. Free Parking & Internet. Good customer service. Express check out. Breakfast menu is very limited. Resort building seems to be old however the room has all the required amenities.

Oceanside Inn: Clean hotel, good parking, great housekeeping staff & on main drag

We arrived on Feb.7, 2019 and were pleasantly surprised to find a very clean fresh room BUT could Not use DVD player. Next day someone came up and hooked us up. There were a few things needed (sink plug, knob for lamp etc) that we needed to request. They cleaned, replaced towels and tidied up each day. Please be aware that Ocean View can mean a window looking over the parking lot but you can see the Ocean. If you want to pay more then ask for a Beach View. The pool was 2 degrees warmer than [... lire plus] the Ocean of 61 degrees. The Tiki Bar was not open. Loud Air Conditioning unit came on every 5 minutes and stayed on for 2 minutes. Free coffee with toast and waffles for breakfast. Juice for kids would have been nice. I would stay again as the Hotel was clean, parking was good and some staff were very helpful. Maybe next time closer to the end of Feb for a warmer pool. Excellent Price for vacation.

Oceanside Inn: Dilapitated hotel

The people working the front desk are lovely and very helpful and friendly. The rooms were relatively clean. The furnishings are completely dilapitated, broken, old, literally falling apart, I have never seen anything like it! We looked at 5 rooms before settling on the one we took and agreed that if we woke up with any bites or saw any bugs in the room, we were out of there and leaving our clothes and bags behind. Luckily, I only saw one beetle in the bathroom on our last day and one large toe  [... lire plus]nail in the room. We went out and bought disinfectant wipes and wiped down the room. The mattress in the fifth room we looked at was pretty new and the bedding looked clean. All in all not a terrible stay if you have low standards and a sense of humor. Our trip was inexpensive but seriously, tripcentral would be wise not to send people to this hotel. Tripcentral should have higher standards then this. I would rate this hotel a one star. Clean lobby and lobby bathrooms but come on! Get some half decent furniture from this decade ocean side. The way it is now, should be of great concern or at the very least embarrassing.

Oceanside Inn: old

The windows did not open. View was nice but from a secure window not so much. Got clostrophic There was air conditioning but the outside temperature didn't require air conditioning -------------------------

Plaza Ocean Club: Very Basic Hotel

Good Very close to the ocean with a nice view from all rooms Hotel was clean Beds were comfortable Rooms were a good size Nice pool Staff were very nice. Bad There was construction on the balconies every week day from 9 - 5 which made it very noisy in the rooms and out by the pool. The bathrooms were tiny and in dire need of renovation. Hotel charges $11 U.S. per day for a resort fee. It appears to cover Wifi, parking, room safe and pool towels. These services should be included in the package  [... lire plus]price as they are not optional. Pool towels are the size of hand towels. Pool chairs are ancient and should be thrown out. Parking is limited which was not a problem for us until the weekend. No computer for guests to use which is a common amenity in most hotels so that guests who are flying in don't have to carry their devices. No newspapers available to guests which is almost always available, even in cheap motels. Our balcony was covered in bird droppings when we arrived. It should have been cleaned up before we checked in, however, it was cleaned up immediately after we mentioned it to the front receptionist. Overall, not a bad place for the price however, if you are looking for a place that is 3 stars or more, you should go elsewhere.

Plaza Ocean Club: Comfortable and clean but tired hotel

It is our understanding that the location is under new management and is slated for a full renovation. The hotel and rooms are clean and it has had some recent improvements done to maintain usability but is showing its age. The staff were friendly and polite and helpful with where to go and eat. The pool area is large with easy access to the beach and has a toddler pool also. We were disappointed at the lack of a hot tub. We were there in early November and the facility was quiet during the week [... lire plus] and a little busier on the weekend.

Plaza Ocean Club: Fair Price

Room was very good, everything worked, restaurant was great, good food,good service, the only negative was that there is not enough elevators, but the place was packed at full capacity, great location, if your looking to be on the beach then this is a place for you, also within walking distance of boardwalk, and tons of places to eat and shop, overall I would return.

Plaza Ocean Club: Don't be lead astray by bad reviews as we were!

After we booked this hotel and read the bad reviews we were anxious about what our stay at this hotel would be like. We were pleasantly surprised! We had read about the elevator issues and dirty shower curtains and old broken down rooms. Honestly I was not looking forward to checking in but reminded myself of what a great deal this package was and that I would be at the pool and beach for the most part! Well immediately upon check-in the gal at the front desk was lovely and I asked her if we cou [... lire plus]ld be on one of the lower floors in case the elevator issues were true! She instead said she would like to upgrade us to a beautiful ocean view room with a little kitchen on the top floor. She said it had brand new carpet. It was perfect and clean and indeed a great view of the coast and the pier! It was very clean although could use a little updating. The AC worked great and the elevator was never an issue to concern us. The cleaning staff were friendly and accommodating and trustworthy! Although parking can be a bit tricky on the weekends when the hotel is busiest - was still not an issue for us. The pool and beach access are great and every staff member we encountered was helpful and very friendly at all times. I would gladly stay here again and that is coming from a traveller who has stayed in some of the finest hotels and resorts. Again.....don't be lead astray and if there is something about the hotel that you don't like - I am confident that then staff would do their best to make it right. It's good value for your money!
