L'avantage de ce complexe est qu'il permet d'accéder aux autres complexes et restaurants du Barcelo Maya. Agréable, propre, service haut de gamme, chacun peut trouver des activités adaptées à ses besoins. Notre chambre au Tropical était vieillotte et aurait besoin d'être rénovée.

Very nice resort Advantage of this resort is the access to other resorts and restaurants of Barcelo Maya. Nice, clean, high level service, everyone could find activities by their needs. Our room in Tropical was outdated and needs some fixing.

Occidental Cozumel: Station balnéaire très tranquille

Recommandé par un ami qui y a séjourné il y a 9 ans. La chambre était très propre et les lits très confortables. Le terrain était magnifique et bien entretenu. Le personnel était sympathique. Je recommande vivement cet établissement. Je reviendrai probablement. Vie nocturne calme.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Superbe complexe hôtelier

Le Barcelo Bavaro Palace est un véritable palais ! Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour dans ce complexe hôtelier. Les chambres, la nourriture et les divertissements étaient excellents. Il n'y avait pas beaucoup d'ombre sur la plage. L'enregistrement a pris beaucoup de temps. Mais malgré tout, c'était incroyable et je le recommanderais à tous mes amis !

Amazing resort Barcelo Bavaro Palace is a real palace! We really enjoyed our stay in this resort. Room , food, entertainment was excellent. Not much shade on the beach. It took a long time to check in. Still it was amazing and I would recommend to all my friends!

CHAMBRES = J'ai changé trois fois de suite avant d'être satisfait de ma chambre. Le personnel était très arrangeant, mais mon ami a vu deux cafards dans sa chambre au deuxième étage (juste au-dessus du premier étage qui est condamné). NON NON !!! Il lui a fallu trois jours pour obtenir un surclassement gratuit au dernier étage avec vue sur l'océa [... lire plus]n. NE SÉJOURNEZ EN AUCUN CAS AU PREMIER ÉTAGE, et essayez également d'éviter le deuxième étage. Optez pour une suite bungalow = cela en vaut la peine. La villa bungalow est fantastique !! REMARQUE * La différence entre le bungalow et la suite bungalow est que la suite bungalow comporte DEUX étages avec des escaliers, contrairement au bungalow. NOURRITURE/BOISSONS = nous avons tous les deux adoré la nourriture et les boissons ici et nous n'avons JAMAIS eu faim ! EMPLACEMENT = à 10 minutes à pied du Beatles Bar (où l'on passe du vieux rock n roll et du métal), ce qui n'est PAS mon style, et du club appelé La Comparsita... Ça, c'est mieux ! (Tous deux situés dans le centre-ville de Varadero, à quelques pas). NE VENEZ DANS CETTE BOÎTE QUE LE VENDREDI OU LE SAMEDI SOIR. Les autres soirs, c'est mort. De plus, vous ne payez que 20 dollars américains et l'alcool est compris, c'est vrai ! Buvez jusqu'à plus soif et enivrez-vous comme une fille blanche. (Et ils ferment tard, avec un espace VIP à l'étage pour après la fermeture. Ce club est de forme octogonale, SANS TOIT, avec une scène/des artistes live pendant une partie de la soirée, puis un DJ qui passe les derniers tubes (mélange de musique anglaise et espagnole) ! Dansez toute la nuit sous la chaleur des étoiles cubaines ou dansez sous la pluie chaude... Dans tous les cas, ce club est une réussite à 1000 % ? SHOPPING = N'apportez PAS de cartes de débit ou de Mastercard chez les artisans. Ils acceptent UNIQUEMENT les dollars canadiens, les dollars américains et les pesos cubains. Vous pouvez prendre le bus qui s'arrête à chaque station balnéaire et parcourt toute la bande de Varadero. Le trajet coûte 5 dollars américains, mais vos billets doivent être neufs (ils n'acceptent PAS les billets endommagés, déchirés ou incomplets). Vous pouvez prendre ce bus du matin jusqu'à environ 17 h. BON VOYAGE ! Je viens de rentrer après 11 jours. J'ai emporté du chocolat et des noix dans mon bagage à main. J'ai apporté une petite couverture et mon propre oreiller. Les couvertures de ce complexe hôtelier sont vieilles, marron et rugueuses... BEUARK. Profitez-en, demandez ce dont vous avez besoin et ce que vous voulez. Soyez assertif. C'est VOTRE voyage, c'est vous qui payez. N'oubliez pas cela.

Amazing Lush Grounds & loved my 2 storey level bungalow SUITE in the bungalow villa! ♥ SO CUTE! LOOK BEOFRE YOU BOOK @ www.youtube.com/@resortwalkthroughs BEACH=The beach here has a gentle decline into the sandy white turquoise ocean. ROOMS=I switched 3 suites before I was happy with mine. They were very accommodating, but my friend saw 2 cock roaches in his 2nd floor room (right above the 1st floor that is condemned) NONO!!! It took him 3 days to get the free upgrade to the top floor ocean view. MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT STAY ANYWHERE ON THE 1st floor, and try not to stay on the 2nd floor either. Get a bungalow suite= worth the money. The bungalow villa is fantastic!! NOTE* The difference between the bungalow and the bungalow suite is the bungalow suite has TWO floors with stairs and the bungalow does not. FOOD/DRINKS= we both loved the food and drinks here & NEVER went hungry! LOCATION= 10 minute walk to the Beatles Bar ( They play old rock n roll and metal here) NOT my style and the club called La Comparsita... Now we're talking!!! (Both downtown Varadero, a very short walk away ) HIT THIS CLUB UP ON A FRI OR SAT NIGHT ONLY. It's dead any other night. Also only pay $20 US and alcohol is all inclusive here that's right! Drink your ass off & get white girl wasted. (and they close late, with VIP upstairs for after hours. This club is octagon shaped with NO ROOF, with stage/live performers for part of the eve then DJ the latest hits (English and Spanish music combo)! Dance all night under the heat of the Cuban stars or dance in the warm rain...either way this club is a win 1000% ♥ SHOPPING= Do NOT bring debit cards or mastercards to the artisans vendors. They accept CAD$ US$ and Cuban pesos ONLY. You can take the hop on hop off bus that stops at each resort and through out the Varadero strip. It is $5 US but your bill must be new (they will NO accept any damaged/ripped/pieces missing money) You can ride this from morning till round 5:00 pm. ENJOY! Just got back from 11 days. Packed chocolate and nuts in my carry on. Brought a lil blanket and my own pillow. The blankets at this resort are the old brown scratchy ones... ICK. Go & enjoy, ask for what you need & want. Be assertive. This is YOUR trip you are paying them. Remember that.

Occidental Tucancun: Station médiocre

L'hôtel a trop d'escaliers, il faut monter et descendre trop d'escaliers pour accéder aux restaurants, aux piscines et aux bars car rien n'est au même niveau. La piscine réservée aux adultes n'avait que des échelles pour entrer et sortir et l'une d'entre elles était cassée et non fermée. La nourriture était loin d'être acceptable. Froid, sans goût et pas mexicain. Le personnel était formidable et les chambres étaient propres.

Mediocre Resort The hotel has too many stairs, you have to walk up and down too many stairs to get to the restaurants, to get to the pools and to get to the bars because nothing is on the same level. The adult only pool had ladders only to enter and exit and one was broken and not closed off. The food was less than acceptable. Cold, tasteless and not Mexican. The staff was amazing and the rooms were clean.

Occidental Punta Cana: Grand centre de villégiature !

Dans l'ensemble, c'est l'un des plus beaux complexes hôteliers que nous ayons visités. Les piscines, le front de mer, la nourriture, etc. étaient tous très bons ! Le centre de villégiature était impeccable, en termes de déchets. Les animations nocturnes auraient pu être meilleures, mais dans l'ensemble, elles étaient excellentes.

Great Resort! Overall, one of the nicest resorts we've been to. The pools, waterfront, food, etc. was all very good! The resort was spotless, in terms of garbage. Nightly entertainment could have been better, but overall, it was excellent.

Occidental Caribe: Bon repos

Les chambres sont très propres, tout comme les jardins du complexe hôtelier. Nous étions un groupe de quatre voyageurs avec un enfant d'un an et nous avons toujours trouvé de quoi manger. La plage est également très agréable. Dans l'ensemble, je recommanderais cet hôtel à tous ceux qui ne souhaitent pas dépenser beaucoup d'argent dans des complexes hôteliers luxueux.

Good Resprt Rooms are very clean and so is the resorts grounds. Traveller with a group of 4 and a 1 year old and always found things to eat. Beach is very nice as well. Overall I would recommend this to anyone not willing to spend lots of money on fancy resorts

Barcelo Solymar: magnifique plage

Le complexe était très propre, le personnel était formidable, la nourriture était excellente et la plage magnifique. Ma seule critique concerne le manque d'animations. Je suis allé à Cuba 16 fois et j'ai été très déçu, car toutes les autres fois, il y avait toujours quelque chose à faire sur la plage, dans les discothèques et au complexe. La seule constante était le bingo quotidien :( L'autre problème était que lorsqu'il y avait quelque chose à faire, personne ne savait où et quand cela se passa [... lire plus]it, car aucune annonce n'était faite.

wonderful beach The resort was very clean and the staff were wonderful the food was amazing and the "beach beautiful" my only complaint was there was very little entertainment, I have been to Cuba 16 times and this was very disappointing all the other times I have been there was always something to do on the beach in the discos and at the resort the only constant was bingo everyday :( the other problem was if there was something going no one knew where and when something was happening no announcements

Beaucoup de choses à faire et une plage magnifique. Le personnel était formidable et très efficace. Beaucoup de restaurants et de bars. C'est agréable de se promener là-bas, de jour comme de nuit. Je recommanderais cet hôtel aux familles, car il est très adapté aux enfants.

Super endroit où séjourner, très propre, personnel sympathique. Il y a beaucoup à faire si vous voulez être actif ou si vous voulez simplement vous détendre ! Très familial, beaucoup d'activités pour les enfants, toboggans aquatiques, spectacles, beaucoup de promenades. La nourriture était fantastique ! Les boissons étaient également bonnes ! Lots to do if you wanna be active or if you just want to go away to relax!Very family oriented lots of children activities pool slides shows Lots of walking. Food was fantastic! Drinks were also good! The weather was good in early January. Would recommend to others!???????????????

Tout était parfait du début à la fin, et le complexe hôtelier était absolument magnifique. L'ambiance, les équipements et l'expérience globale ont dépassé nos attentes, et nous avons été très satisfaits de notre séjour. Barcelo Maya Tropical: Excellent complexe hôtelier !

Le complexe hôtelier est magnifique et les jardins sont impeccablement entretenus. Les options de restauration sont excellentes et le service est très bon. La plage est très agréable, mais n'oubliez pas d'emporter des chaussures aquatiques, car il y a beaucoup de coraux pointus partout. Les halls d'entrée sont tous magnifiques et disposent de nombreux sièges, mais comme le bar du hall est plus éloigné, généralement dans un espace clos, il n'y a rien à faire dans les halls. Une chose étrange qui [... lire plus] m'agace, en tout cas pour moi, est l'utilisation intensive de fontaines décoratives, de buses et de pulvérisateurs. Bien qu'ils soient jolis à regarder, ils génèrent un bruit blanc important qui couvre toute musique ou ambiance.

Excellent resort! The resort is beautiful and the grounds are immaculately maintained. Dining options are excellent and service is very good. The beach is very nice but definitely bring water shoes as there is a lot of sharp coral everywhere. The lobbies are all gorgeous with lots of seating but with the lobby bar being further away, typically in an enclosed space, there is nothing to do in the lobbies. One strange annoyance, for me anyway, is the extensive use of decorative water fountains, nozzles and sprayers. While they can be pretty to look at, they generate a significant amount of white noise, drowning out any music or ambience.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Complexe hôtelier correct

Emplacement idéal. Nous avons apprécié notre séjour. Le temps était magnifique et l'entrée du parc était toute proche. La nourriture est médiocre. N'y allez pas pour manger. Le bâtiment dans lequel nous avons séjourné est ancien et aurait besoin d'être rénové. De plus, les niveaux Royal et Club sont beaucoup plus agréables. Préparez-vous à faire des achats. Le service était excellent.

Okay resort Perfect location. We enjoyed our stay. The weather was great and the park entrance was so close. Food is subpar. Do not go there for the food. Old building we stayed in, needs to be remodelled. Also, the Royal level and club level much nicer. Be prepared for sales. Service was excellent.

Barcelo Solymar: " Le nouveau Cuba"

C'est du moins ce que l'agent de Sunwing a essayé de m'expliquer au centre de villégiature parce qu'il n'y avait pas de sièges de toilette dans les toilettes du bâtiment principal (dans les toilettes pour hommes). J'ai réservé mon voyage par l'entremise de Trip Central, comme toujours, j'ai regardé les photos et j'ai fait confiance à leur cote de 4 étoiles. J'ai été à Cuba plus de 10 fois, je sais donc à quoi m'attendre ou ce qui peut m'attendre pendant mon séjour. J'y vais pour les plages, le c [... lire plus]limat et le peuple cubain. Cela dit, de tous mes voyages à Cuba, je n'ai jamais vécu des vacances aussi décevantes. Nous n'avons pas réussi à fermer correctement la porte de ma chambre et le coffre-fort de ma chambre ne fonctionnait pas. J'ai perdu toute la première fin d'après-midi et la soirée à rester dans ma chambre pendant qu'ils travaillaient sur le coffre-fort qu'ils n'ont pas pu réparer. J'ai perdu de nombreuses heures au cours des deux jours suivants à attendre dans ma chambre pendant qu'ils travaillaient sur mon coffre-fort, à me rendre dans le hall et à attendre que le personnel vienne dans ma chambre avec une clé qui ouvrirait mon coffre-fort. Le premier jour et la première nuit, il n'y avait ni eau chaude ni eau froide dans ma chambre, ce qui arrive à Cuba. Cependant, on m'a envoyé dans une salle d'accueil pour prendre une douche et c'était dégoûtant. Il n'y avait ni savon, ni shampoing, ni serviette et la chambre et la douche n'avaient pas été nettoyées depuis des semaines. J'ai demandé de l'aide à ma représentante Sunwing, par exemple pour changer de chambre ou de centre de villégiature, de préférence. Elle m'a répondu que c'était le nouveau Cuba. Elle m'a dit que c'était le nouveau Cuba, qu'il n'y avait pas de sièges de toilette et que les choses avaient beaucoup changé depuis Covid. Je ne pense pas qu'elle savait que j'étais allée à Cuba cinq ou six fois après Covid et que tous les centres de villégiature avaient des sièges de toilettes et du personnel qui nettoyait les chambres et fournissait des serviettes, etc. Elle m'a dit que si je changeais de centre de villégiature, il m'incomberait de couvrir les frais de transport et les différences de prix des ressources. Elle me disait que si je changeais de centre de villégiature, ce serait à moi d'assumer les frais de transport et les différences de prix des ressources. Je me rends à Cayo Coco à la fin du mois avec un groupe d'amis... il sera intéressant de voir quelles sont les conditions du centre de villégiature là-bas. Le Solymar devrait être classé 3 ou 3,5 au mieux. Si vous recommandez ce voyage, votre client devrait être informé des conditions qui y règnent

“ The New Cuba” Or at least that’s what the Sunwing agent tried to explain to me at the resort because there were no toilet seats in the main building washrooms ( in the men’s washrooms) I booked my trip through trip Central as always I looked at the pictures and trusted their 4 Star rating. I’ve been to Cuba well over 10 times so I know what to expect or what can be expected while I’m there. I go for the beaches, the weather and for the Cuban people. That said, I have never experienced such a. disappointing holiday in all of my travels to Cuba. We could not get my door to the room to close properly and the safe in my room wasn’t working. I lost the whole first late afternoon and evening., having to stay in my room while they worked on the safe which they were unable to fix . I lost numerous hours over the next two days having to wait in my room while they worked on my safe we’re having to travel to the lobby and wait on staff to come to my room with a key that would open my safe.. There was no water, hot or cold in my room on the first day or night, which happens in Cuba. However, they sent me to a hospitality room to have a shower and it was disgusting. There was no soap or shampoo, no towel and the room and shower hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. I asked my Sunwing rep for assistance i.e. moving to another room or another resort preferably. She told me that this was the new Cuba. That they can’t get toilet seats and things have changed a lot since Covid. I don’t think that she knew that I’d mean to Cuba five or six times post Covid and every resort had toilet seats, and had staffed that would clean rooms and provide towels, etc. She told me that if I was switching resorts, it would be my responsibility to cover the cost of transportation and differences in resource pricing. She was constantly looking over and agreeing with the hotel relations officer, and not supporting me at all. I’m travelling to Cayo Coco at the end of the month with a group of friends … it will be interesting to see what the conditions of the resort are there. The Solymar should be rated as a 3 - 3.5 at best. If you are recommending this trip, your client should be made aware of the conditions there

Occidental Caribe: Des améliorations et des réparations sont nécessaires.

Le complexe était bien mais le personnel manquait d'émotion, pas de sourire et la plupart ne parlaient pas anglais et il était presque impossible de trouver quelqu'un qui puisse le faire. La nourriture était toujours froide et les files d'attente pour les petits déjeuners (chauds) étaient longues. Le complexe lui-même a BESOIN de réparations dans les chambres. Les lampes étaient cassées, les pommeaux de douche bouchés, les prises électriques mal fixées aux murs. Les femmes de chambre entrent dan [... lire plus]s les chambres après avoir frappé sans attendre de réponse (je me suis fait prendre avec mon pantalon baissé). Il faudrait plus de personnel autour des piscines pour les boissons. Il n'y en avait qu'un par piscine.

Upgrades and repairs much needed. The resort was fine but the staff lacked emotion, no smiles and most could not speak English and finding someone that could was almost impossible. The food was always cold and the lineup for (hot) breakfasts were long. The resort itself NEEDS repairs to the rooms. Lamps were broken, shower heads were clogged, electric outlets were loose in the walls. The maids walk into rooms after 1 knock without waiting for a reply.( I got caught with my pants down) literally. They need more staff around the pools for drinks. There was only 1 per pool.

Allegro Cozumel: Excellente situation

La plage est magnifique, avec de nombreuses chaises longues, tout comme les piscines. Les chambres sont vieillottes mais les lits et les draps sont confortables. Le personnel est formidable, très attentif et amical. Le terrain est extrêmement bien entretenu et très propre. Inconvénients : pas satisfait de la nourriture au buffet. Généralement froid et peu varié. La réservation des restaurants était frustrante, il fallait faire la queue à la réception pour réserver tous les jours pour seulement  [... lire plus]2 réservations autorisées pour un séjour de 7 jours. Seulement 3 restaurants au choix. Le restaurant mexicain était décevant, la nourriture était froide et affreuse. Le restaurant asiatique était bon mais difficile d'accès. Les boissons du bar étaient bonnes et il y avait beaucoup de choix. Le mini réfrigérateur était rempli quotidiennement de sodas, d'eau et de bière. Je recommanderais mais soyez conscient que le buffet a besoin d'être amélioré, j'ai été déçu par cela. J'aime l'ambiance d'un petit hôtel.

Great location The beach is beautiful plenty of loungers as well as the pools. Rooms are dated but comfy beds and linens. Staff are amazing very attentive and friendly. The grounds are kept extremely well very clean. Cons: not pleased with the food at the buffet. Usually cold lacking variety. The restaurant booking was frustrating,had to line up at reception desk to book daily for only 2 reservations permitted for 7 day stay. Only 3 restaurants to choose from. The Mexican was disappointing, food was cold and awful. Asian was good but hard to get into. The bar drinks were good and many choices. Mini refrigerator was stocked daily with soda, water and beer. I’d recommend but be aware that the buffet needs improvement was disappointed with that. Love the feel of a smaller resort.

Royal Hideaway Playacar: une vraie déception

Le complexe est très bien entretenu par le personnel. Les terrains et la plage sont magnifiques. Cependant, il y a des améliorations à apporter. Les parasols et les chaises longues de la piscine auraient dû être remplacés il y a des années. L'hôtel semble vieillot. J'étais en vacances avec mon frère et nos épouses. Chacun d'entre nous a été très malade pendant au moins deux jours entiers. Nous avons été victimes d'une intoxication alimentaire. Le concierge en a été informé. Inutile de dire qu [... lire plus]e cela a gâché nos vacances. Nous ne reviendrons pas.

a real disappointment The resort is very well kept by their staff. The grounds and beach are beautiful. However there is room for improvement. Poolside umbrellas and lounge chairs should have been replaced years ago. The resort feels dated. I was on vacation with my brother and our wives. Each of us became very ill for a minimum of 2 full days. Food poisoning was the issue for us. The concierge was made aware. Needless to say - this ruined our vacation. We will not be returning.

Barcelo Maya Palace: J'adore ce centre de villégiature

Magnifique plage où l'on peut faire de la plongée avec masque et tuba ou simplement admirer la vue. La nourriture est excellente dans les restaurants ou les buffets et les divertissements sont excellents. C'était notre troisième séjour. Beaucoup de clients avec qui nous avons discuté étaient des clients réguliers comme nous. Si vous voulez être actif et que vous aimez un complexe en bord de mer, c'est l'endroit idéal.

Love this resort Beautiful beach you can snorkel or just enjoy the view. Food is amazing in restaurants or buffets and great entertainment. Our 3rd time stay. Many guests we talked to had been repeat guests just like us. If you want to be active and like a beachfront resort this is the place.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Revue coloniale

L'hôtel est propre et bien entretenu. Les 2 domaines, à mon avis, qui ont besoin d'être améliorés sont la nourriture et l'animation. La nourriture était correcte, mais on s'est vite ennuyé avec les options du buffet. L'animation était absente. Grand écart entre le dîner et le spectacle du soir.

Colonial review Hotel looked clean, and well maintained. The 2 areas, to my opinion, that needs improvement is in the food and animation. Food was OK, but got bored very quick with the options we had in the buffet. Animation was absent. Big gap between the dinner and the evening show.
