Great resort

Rooms were adequate (little far from main lobby about 5 min walk or get one of the shuttles) nice big main pool with several little ones around. Nice big beach with lots of open lounge chairs. Food was good and staff very friendly and helpful.

Excellent Week

My spouse and I spent April 4, 2016 to April 11, 2016 at this fabulous resort. We were pleasantly surprised with a refreshment just as our bus arrived at the resort and were in our room within 30 minutes of our arrival. What stood out to us was the cleanliness of the washrooms in the public areas. A special acknowledgement to the special woman that kept the lobby washrooms spotless and did so with a smile. We didn't attend any of the restaurants as we found the selection at the buffet and grill  [... lire plus]sufficient for us. We enjoyed our morning omelettes. If I would recommend one thing...the food at the buffet and pasta needs to be served hot.

Great resort

Would have liked something other than cookies in between meals. The pool was great. Room was nice no complaints there. Staff was great and very friendly. Had a hard time getting connected to the free wifi

Couldn't of been better

Everything about this resort was better than I expected. The food was really good, the rooms were nice, the beach was okay, they had little shops in the resort so there was no need to pay to go to the city to buy souvenirs, the pools are really nice and the people are so welcoming.

VERY SATISFIED / BETTER THAN EXPECTED

How can they offer this ''all included'' package for such a low price. Excellent food, very clean resort, good & rapid service, we appreciated the tours (Paradise Island and Sosua catamaran). Not the best beach in RD.

Rooms very clean, food great choices, grounds and pool excellent, beach great! Staff unbelievably friendly and helpful, hard working and proud of the care they give! Weather was super. I will go back for sure.

Great resort

Overall our stay was great. A bit of background: My only other comparison is 3 trips to cuba, my fiancé and I stayed April 4-11; ages 26/27. We are not picky eaters nor would I consider us high maintenance. I travel a lot in the US for work so I have my fair share of hotel stays under my belt. The food was great; always something to eat. Fresh omelette in the morning, carving station at lunch etc. The beach bar was my preferred place to eat every day. When we arrived we had already checked in,  [... lire plus]I highly recommend booking with Air Canada, you get a lot of perks. The first thing: the bed is like sleeping on concrete. My finace has broken his back twice and I have rheumatoid arthritis and when we got home we were both in agony. The bathroom door wouldn't close and the AC didn't work.. and when I went to call downstairs... the phone didn't work either. I have never complained and had my room switched but I figured 3rd times a charm and get a new room. We moved the next day .. had to move our own stuff which I was surprised but no big deal. The pool is beautiful, beach is beautiful. I got eaten alive on the Safari tour.. by the way.. unless you like going to places to have locals sell stuff... don't waste the $75 USD. The bars in the main hotel close at 11 so unless you are going to walk out to the disco (located in the entrance of the resort) you're having an early night. The drive is also 1.5 hours from the hotel but that's not a fault of the hotel Overall I enjoyed my vacation (I paid under $900).

Beautiful Resort!

To start off from the airport a little over an hour drive to the resort. Checking in takes place on the bus therefore a voicing long check in lines. Very much appreciated! Grounds immaculate, traders always working hard! Staff outstanding, some still learning and in training...all good! Pools 3 in total, 2 quiet pools the other main pool lots of activities. Beach clear water, sand bags to protect from eroding. Sand flies do exist but did not stop us from being at the beach for 7 glorious days. R [... lire plus]ooms clean, cool well kept. Bathroom and shower no issues . Food outstanding! We did not leave there craving anything, all our needs were met. 3 specialty restaurants were all great! Our preferred one was the Italian. Japanese close second. I notified the guest services that we were celebrating an anniversary and we were greeted with a lovely banner across our door for the week. In the room a complimentary bottle of Brugal Rum, Bahia Príncipe t- shirts, fruit platter, balloons to name a few. We took walks on the " Pueblo Príncipe" aka main drag for some shopping and casino life in the evenings. Definitely a 5 star in our eyes as the resort met and exceeded all our expectations!

Gran Bahia Principe Resort, Trip Central & Transat

We must announce that our recent travel service with Trip Central was most easy and excellent ! Our booking agent was friendly with excellent customer service. The TRANSAT airline provided a smooth and relaxing flight. All was appreciated and enjoyed our recent stay at Grand Bahia Principe San Juan. We have only a single statement for your viewing... Great resort.

We had an excellent trip. The price through trip central was fantastic for our one bedroon suite. The food was terrific compared to our recent Cuba trip. The staff were wonderful. The resort was beautiful, the grounds well kept. The beach was very good and the room well maintained and clean. We will return to this resort soon.

the grounds and rooms where kept very clean, we stayed from march 6th to the 13th the weather was beautiful the people very friendly, food was good day time activity's we great with the staff being excellent

Well Kept always - Staff always willing to help - food hot and plenty - Rooms could use a update - a very relaxing stay with plenty to see and do - a wee bit to far to go on any outings but a great place to relax and enjoy

Great resort!

Our family of 4 had a fabulous time at this resort. The kids were entertained all week long. Resort was well kept, rooms were clean, food was fantastic, and the staff were kind and always helpful. Great value! We would definately go back.

Amazing vacation

Great getaway. We had a fantastic time in the sun and pool. The food was wonderful and the staff was as well. The hotel was about an hour away from the airport and it was a bit of a long trek to the hotel.

Great vacation spot

Great resort with the best food we have had in all southern vacations. The grounds, pool, rooms are kept immaculately clean, the atmosphere is relaxed, efficient and well staffed. The beach was lovely, although the ocean was quite "rough" in this area. We always found pool or beach side chairs, which was a pleasant change from many resorts. The resort is very large, so be prepared for the exercise. We loved it. A few minor irritations: provide the basic room amenities expected in a 4 star - a co [... lire plus]ffee maker and room safe should not be offered as a "rental" item - that's just "cheesey". A chain of this size should not gouge quests by adding 15% to currency exchange. Do not take Canadian cash - US cash only, bring small denominations for tipping, as the front desk gives only 100 peso bills - very annoying. Excursions are very overpriced for the quality received. If your are a early riser, a decent coffee can't be found. The lobby coffee "machine" malfunctioned or needed service 5 out of 7 days. Very annoying to those who were bussing out at 6:00 am. Great place, incredible buffet food, wonderful staff.

Very friendly staff at all levels well kept grounds and facilities fantastic food at all restaurants rooms nice safe and always cleaned on time no issues with water no problems with beach towels or finding space at the beach or pool Transat rep very friendly and provided a fantastic welcome brief

Grand Bahia Principe San Juan - beautiful resort

grounds beautifully maintained buffet delicious. Some food lukewarm but microwave available if you wanted it hotter staff friendly loved that there was lots of covered, comfortable sitting areas other than the lobby. premium alcohol if you asked

Great Resort

The resort is beautiful, the food is great...al la cartes great... cleaning all the time, public bathrooms spotless. The beach was red flagged every day so didnt spend much time there but it was beautiful. Pool was amazing though. Had a great time :-)

Would'nt go back to this resort!

Traveled from March 1-7 Pros: The resort overall was clean No complaint's about the food Cons: The airport bus to the resort was run down Resort staff speak little to no English & to me if you are going to be working where tourists vacation this is a must! They are also very rude if you don't trip them Staff cannot be fully trusted as we had a few items of clothing stolen out of our room. Not enough variety when it comes to nightly entertainment Rooms have apparently been renovated but haven't.. [... lire plus]...they bought some new TV's & painted that's it. The location of this resort is an hour or more away from the airport so therefore you would need to pay for transportation to go anywhere!

Very enjoyable time

We stayed for one week, food was varied and very good as were the pools and beach. The only drawback was there was Free WIFI for 60 minutes a day.. but you could only use it in one session.. awkward.. there was also expensive WIFI available.
