Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Merveilleuses vacances en famille

Tout d'abord, je dois admettre que je lis les commentaires avant de partir en voyage, donc pour moi cela en vaut la peine. Cet hôtel était fantastique, nous avons passé un très bon moment et je me devais d'écrire une critique, également désolée si j'ai mal orthographié un nom. J'ai été à Cuba plusieurs fois et même à Cayo Santa Maria mais je dois admettre que le Sol a été de loin mon meilleur moment. Le personnel est extraordinaire. Oui, le trajet est d'environ une heure et demie depuis l'aérop [... lire plus]ort, mais la bière fraîche à 2 pour 5 $ canadiens et le guide touristique l'ont rendu agréable. Je ne peux pas vraiment me plaindre. Les chambres : Il y avait beaucoup de fenêtres et un balcon avec vue sur la jungle. Il y avait un grand lit et des lits jumeaux. La chambre était toujours nettoyée. La chambre avait une climatisation et un réfrigérateur qui fonctionnaient, un coffre-fort mais il n'était pas verrouillé et il y avait beaucoup de serviettes, de gel douche et de shampoing. Il n'y a pas de sèche-cheveux, si c'est important. Nous avons toujours eu de l'eau chaude. La station a perdu de l'eau deux fois au cours de la semaine, la période la plus longue étant de plusieurs heures, mais c'était gérable. Il y avait deux fauteuils à bascule très solides et un bureau avec une chaise. La télévision fonctionnait et proposait une variété de chaînes dans différentes langues, rien d'extraordinaire mais suffisamment pour se divertir. La chambre disposait de suffisamment de prises pour recharger tous nos appareils. Dans l'ensemble, rien à redire. Plage : Il s'agit d'une longue plage dont certaines zones sont meilleures que d'autres. Il y a beaucoup de chaises et de couvertures pour se détendre. Ils l'entretiennent bien et il y avait très peu de déchets. Il y a une partie réservée aux nus, mais elle est indiquée pour qu'il n'y ait pas de confusion et elle est située à l'extrémité de la plage, ce qui ne pose pas de problème. La plage était belle dans l'ensemble. Nourriture : C'est Cuba, alors ne soyons pas trop difficiles. Le buffet avait assez de variété pour tous les régimes et la nourriture était très comestible. J'ai adoré le poulet grillé, les smoothies du petit déjeuner étaient excellents mais pas disponibles tous les matins, le bar à pizza/pasta était très bon. Je peux honnêtement dire que le buffet était bon. Vous pouvez obtenir des sandwichs/burgers/hotdogs grillés au bar de la piscine, des sandwichs au bar du hall le soir, le beach par a eu un fantastique déjeuner BBQ avec des frites. La pizzeria était incroyable tout simplement, la meilleure pizza et les meilleures pâtes que j'ai jamais eu à Cuba. Ils avaient deux a la carte’s et tous les deux avaient de la bonne nourriture. Vous n'aurez pas faim dans ce complexe et j'ai beaucoup apprécié la nourriture. Bars : Pas de pénurie ici, lobby bar était 24/7, bar de la piscine, bar de la plage et même le piano bar. Le personnel du bar était formidable. Beaucoup de boissons fraîches et du café superbe, le tout avec un service formidable. Je n'ai rien à redire Divertissement : Mini-disco tous les soirs même s'il n'y avait pas d'enfants, beaucoup de spectacles, ils ont même fait venir deux chanteurs et une variété de musiciens. La musique était constamment en arrière-plan et il y avait même un DJ. L'équipe d'animation nous a tous divertis sans nous ennuyer, donc un grand bravo à eux. Service : Je dirais que la meilleure chose à propos du Sol, ce sont les gens. Le personnel était si amical et serviable. Ils ont rendu notre séjour encore plus agréable. C'est un jour férié, alors profitez-en et profitez de leur hospitalité. Dans l'ensemble : Je sais que c'est le plus ancien centre de villégiature de Cayo Santa Maria, ils ont fait beaucoup d'améliorations depuis l'ouragan Irma, m'a-t-on dit. Il n'est pas trop grand et en fait les chiffres étaient faibles, donc nous n'avons jamais eu de longues files d'attente. Ils ont des chats errants qui sont si doux et amicaux. Je ne saurais trop recommander ce centre de villégiature et je comprends pourquoi tant de gens y reviennent. C'était une semaine formidable et nous reviendrons sans aucun doute.

Wonderful Family Vacation First, I have to admit I read the reviews before I travel so to me it is worth it. This hotel was fantastic, we had a great time and I just had to write a review, also sorry if I spelled any name incorrectly. I have been to Cuba several times and even to Cayo Santa Maria but I have to admit the Sol was by far my best time. The staff were amazing. Yes, the drive is about an hour and a half from the airport but the cold beer 2 for $5 Cdn and tour guide made it enjoyable. I cannot really complain too much. Rooms: Had lots of windows and a balcony overlooking the jungle I would say. There was a king bed and a twin. Room was always cleaned. The room had working AC and fridge, a safe but it was not bolted down and came with plenty of towels and body wash and shampoo. No hair dryer if that is a big deal. We always had hot water. The resort did lose water twice during the week, longest period was several hours but it was manageable. There was two very solid rocking chairs and a desk with a chair. TV worked and had a variety of stations in various languages, nothing amazing but enough for entertainment for sure. The room had enough plugs to charge all of our devices. Overall no complaints. Beach: Its a long beach with some areas better than others. Plenty of chairs and cover for us to lounge around. They maintain it well and there was very little garbage left around. There is a nude section but its marked so there will not be any confusion and it is located on the far end so no issue there. Beach was lovely overall. Food: Its Cuba so let’s not be overly picky. Buffet had enough variety for every diet and food was very edible. I loved the grilled chicken, breakfast smoothies were great but not available every morning, the pizza/pasta bar was very good. I can honestly say the buffet was good. You can get grilled sandwiches/burgers/hotdogs at the pool bar, sandwiches from the lobby bar at night, beach par had a fantastic BBQ lunch with fries. The pizza restaurant was amazing plain and simple, best pizza and pasta I have ever had in Cuba. They had two a la carte’s and both of them had great food. You will not go hungry at this resort and I enjoyed the food very much. Bars: No shortage here, lobby bar was 24/7, pool bar, beach bar and even the piano bar. The bar staff that was great. Plenty of cold drinks and superb coffee all with great service. No complaints Entertainment: Mini disco every night even if there were no kids, plenty of shows, they even brought in two singers and a variety of musicians. Music was constantly playing in the background and they even had a DJ. The animation team entertained us all but did not bug you so a big shout out to them. Service: I am going to say the best thing about the Sol was the people. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They made our stay that much more pleasant. It is a holiday so enjoy it and enjoy their hospitality. Overall: I know this is the oldest resort in Cayo Santa Maria, they have done many upgrades since Hurricane Irma I was told. It is not too big and in fact the numbers were low so we never had any long lineups ever. They have stray cats that are so sweet and friendly. I cannot recommend this resort enough and can understand why so many people keep going back. It was a great week and we will be back for sure.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Incroyable

Tout était génial, nous avons passé des vacances extraordinaires, la nourriture était merveilleuse, les gens étaient géniaux, le front de mer était hors du commun, je recommande cet endroit à tous ceux que je connais ;)) Je recommanderai cet endroit à tous ceux que je connais ;)) Je voyagerai encore et encore dans cet endroit magnifique

Amazing Every thing was awesome , we had an amazing vacation, the food was wonderful, the people were awesome, beachfront was out of this world, I recommend this place to everyone I know ;)) I will travel to this beautiful place again and again

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Le bon, la brute et le truand

Nous avons réservé notre voyage via Tripcentral et avons volé avec Air Transat. Nous sommes arrivés le jeudi 8 mars 2018. Dès que nous avons mis les pieds dans l'hôtel, nous avons pris un mauvais départ. Première chose, nous n'avons pas reçu de boisson de bienvenue comme annoncé. Ensuite, on nous a donné des clés de porte qui ne fonctionnaient pas. Ma femme a donc attendu dans la chambre pendant que je me procurais de nouvelles clés pour la porte. (Nous sommes entrés dans la chambre et avons déc [... lire plus]ouvert qu'elle ne correspondait pas à ce que nous avions demandé au départ. Nous avions demandé un grand lit au dernier étage. Nous avons eu 2 lits doubles au 2ème étage. De plus, le réfrigérateur du bar était vide et éteint. Nous avons ensuite remarqué que les lumières de la salle de bains ne fonctionnaient pas et qu'il était difficile de faire sa toilette dans l'obscurité. De plus, il faut être un champion de bodybuilding pour ouvrir la porte-fenêtre, qui semble avoir été déréglée et ne se verrouille pas. Environ une heure plus tard, il y a eu une coupure de courant. Je suis donc retourné au bâtiment principal pour demander que quelqu'un répare ces objets. On m'a dit qu'on m'enverrait quelqu'un pour faire les réparations (j'aurais bien appelé mais le téléphone n'était pas dans notre chambre). Personne ne s'est présenté. J'ai pu localiser le panneau électrique et j'ai remarqué qu'un disjoncteur était éteint. Je l'ai donc réenclenché. Le lendemain matin, j'ai remarqué un tas de cercles rouges sur mes bras et mes jambes. Il s'est avéré qu'il s'agissait de punaises de lit. J'ai photographié et documenté ces piqûres. Si vous voulez réserver un restaurant à la carte, vous devez faire la queue et attendre longtemps. On ne peut réserver un restaurant que le jour même où l'on s'y rend. Cela signifie donc qu'il faut faire la queue tous les jours où l'on veut aller au restaurant à la carte. Nous avons réservé un restaurant au Romantico et le seul horaire disponible était 8h30 ou 9h30. Nous avons eu de la chance et avons obtenu 8h30. La nourriture au buffet était pratiquement la même tous les jours. C'est normal à Cuba. Il semblait y avoir une pénurie de bacon. Je n'en ai vu que deux fois pendant notre séjour d'une semaine. Nous avons essayé le restaurant grill près de la piscine ouest et c'était bon. On y trouve des nuggets de poulet et des frites, des hamburgers, des sandwichs au bœuf, etc. La nourriture est bonne et chaude. Ils ont des bouteilles de ketchup mais le goût est celui d'une sauce barbecue. Tous les matins, nous allions prendre un cappuccino au café Mike's, situé dans le hall principal. Nous aimons le personnel sympathique. Il y a aussi des pâtisseries fraîches pour les amateurs de sucreries. Les fruits frais du buffet étaient rares. Il n'y avait que des papayes et des ananas pas mûrs. Apparemment, l'ouragan Irma a détruit la plupart des bananiers et des manguiers dans le nord de l'île de Cayo Santa Maria.

The good,the bad and the ugly We booked our trip through Tripcentral and flew with Air Transat. We arrived on Thursday, March 8th, 2018. As soon as we stepped into the hotel we were off to a bad start. First thing, we didn't receive a welcome drink as advertised. Next thing is we were given door keys that did not work. So, my wife waited in the room while I got new keys for the door. (It's a long trek as we were in the furthest building from the main building) We go in the room only to discover it is not what we asked for initially. We requested a king size bed on the top floor. We got 2 double beds on the 2nd floor. Also, the bar fridge was empty and turned off. Then we noticed the bathroom lights did not work and its difficult to get cleaned up in the dark. Also, the patio door requires a bodybuilding champion to open as it seemingly was off the track and does not lock. About an hour later, the power went out. So, I walked back to the main building asking for someone to repair these items. They said they would send someone over to do the repairs.( I would have called but the telephone was missing from our room.) Nobody showed up. I was able to locate the electrical panel and noticed a breaker was off. So I switched it back on. The following morning, I noticed a bunch of red circles on my arms and legs. it turns out they were bed bugs. I photographed and documented these bites. If you want to book the a la carte restaurant, you have to get in a long line and long wait times. You can only book a restaurant on the same day you are going. So, that means standing in line for everyday you want to go to a la carte restaurant. We booked 1 restaurant at the Romantico and the only time they had was 8:30 or 9:30. We were lucky and got 8:30. The food in the buffet was basically the same everyday. That's normal for Cuba. There seemed to be a shortage of bacon. I only seen it a couple of times during our one week stay. We tried the grill restaurant near the west pool and it was good. They have chicken nuggets and fries, burgers, and beef sandwiches, etc. The food is good and hot. They have bottles of ketchup but really tastes like barbecue sauce. Every morning, we were going to Mike's cafe in the main lobby for cappuccino. We love the friendly staff. They also have fresh pastries there for those sweet lovers. The fresh fruits in the buffet were scarce. They only had papaya and unripe pineapple. Apparently, the Hurricane Irma wiped out most of the banana and mango trees in the north end of the island of Cayo Santa Maria.

Melia Las Dunas: 4ème fois et toujours aussi incroyable !

C'était notre quatrième séjour au Melia Las Dunas et le personnel était toujours aussi formidable. Le personnel se souvenait de nous et le service était incroyable ! L'hôtel et la plage ont été endommagés par l'ouragan mais cela ne se voit pas. La nourriture était moyenne et répétitive et il n'y avait pas de frites toute la semaine. Dans l'ensemble, le service et la plage ont compensé la nourriture. Nous n'allons pas à Cuba pour la nourriture. Nous y allons pour les gens et la plage. Nous revien [... lire plus]drons !

4th time and still amazing!! This was our fourth time at Melia Las Dunas and the staff was still as amazing as ever. The staff remembered us and the service was amazing! The hotel and beach were damaged by the hirricane but you can not tell. Food was average and repetitive and there were no fries all week. All in all the service and the beach made up for the food. We do not go to Cuba for the food. We go for the people and the beach. We will be back!!

Melia Las Dunas: Il y a tant à faire !

Je reviens d'une semaine formidable au Melia Las Dunas à Santa Maria Cuba ! C'est un immense complexe hôtelier avec tellement de choses à faire. La plage est magnifique, le personnel est merveilleux, j'ai adoré la musique live après le dîner et les nombreux bars et restaurants. Beaucoup d'activités pour les enfants et les adultes, vraiment quelque chose pour tout le monde !

So much to do! Just returned from a great week at Melia Las Dunas in Santa Maria Cuba! It is a huge resort with so much to do. Beach is gorgeous, staff are wonderful, loved the live music after dinner, and the many bars and restaurants. Lots of activities for kids and adults, definitely something for everyone!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Un moment fantastique !

La chambre était spacieuse et propre, avec un lit très confortable. La nourriture était abondante et délicieuse. Le personnel était tout simplement extraordinaire. Amical et extrêmement serviable. Le terrain et la plage étaient à couper le souffle. Nous reviendrons sans aucun doute !

Fantastic time! The room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. The food was plentiful and delicious . The staff were simply amazing. Friendly and extremely helpful. And the resort grounds and beach were breathtaking. We will definitely be making a return visit!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: De premier ordre

L'hébergement était très bon. Lorsque nous avons changé de chambre et que la deuxième chambre a eu des problèmes avec le robinet de l'évier et les toilettes, le personnel s'est rapidement occupé du problème et l'a corrigé. La restauration était très bonne, en gardant à l'esprit que vous êtes à Cuba, et non à Toronto ou à New York. Le personnel était aimable, serviable et toujours souriant.

Top-notch The accommodations were very good. When we moved rooms and the second room had issues with the sink faucet and the toilet, it was quickly attended to by the staff and the issue corrected. The dining/food was very good keeping in mind that you are in Cuba, not Toronto or New York City. The staff were gracious, helpful and always provided service with a smile.

L'hôtel lui-même est magnifique, j'aime son agencement et l'accès facile à toutes les commodités. Comme l'hôtel a moins de 5 ans, il est compréhensible que les jardins ne soient pas aussi luxuriants que je l'espérais, mais c'est déjà ça. Si vous prévoyez de séjourner dans ce complexe, assurez-vous de planifier vos dîners à l'avance et de réserver dans les restaurants, car la nourriture du buffet n'est pas des plus savoureuses. Le personnel est super sympathique cependant et ils ont été très uti [... lire plus]les pour tout ce dont nous avions besoin. J'y retournerais volontiers !

Overall a good stay! The hotel itself is beautiful, I love the layout and the easy accecibilty to all amenities. Seeing as the hotel is less than 5 years old is it understandable that the gardens were not as lush as I hoped but getting there. If you are planning on staying at this resort make sure to plan you dinners ahead and make reservations at the restaurants as the food in the buffet is not the tastiest. Staff is super freindly though and they were very helpful with anything we needed. I would go back!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Super Resort

Le Royalton à Cayo Santa Maria Cuba a été bien animé, très propre, ils ont gardé la chambre toujours propre, il y avait toujours une bouteille d'eau dans le réfrigérateur. Nous avions deux majordomes qui travaillaient de longues heures pour s'assurer que nous ne manquions de rien, ils nous ont réservé deux autres restaurants dans le Resort à côté du nôtre. Les restaurants étaient à la carte. Pour ceux qui aiment les fruits de mer, c'était bien, mais pour les autres, ils avaient la possibilité  [... lire plus]d'essayer d'autres restaurants. Le Snackbar Sunset avait une meilleure variété de nourriture pour l'heure du déjeuner. C'est un endroit calme pour se détendre, les plus jeunes pourraient le trouver trop calme. Nous avons eu du beau temps.

The Royalton at Cayo Santa Maria Cuba was well entertained, very clean, they kept the room always clean, there was always bottle of water in the fridge. The people working were kind and friendly, We had two butlers who were working long hours to make sure that we were not missing anything, they booked us with other two restaurants at the Resort next to ours. The Restaurant were a la care. For people loving Seafood it was ok, but for others they have the opportunity to try other restaurant. T he Snackbar Sunset had a better variety of food for the lunch hour. It is a quiet resort to relax, younger people might find it too quiet. We had good weather.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Une semaine très agréable

Mes parents (âgés), ma fille et moi-même avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour. La plage est l'une des meilleures que j'aie connues. Certains jours, il y avait du vent, ce qui nous permettait de naviguer sur le catamaran et de sauter dans les vagues ; d'autres jours, la plage était absolument calme, ce qui nous permettait de jouer sans fin. Les agents d'entretien du bâtiment 4 (en particulier le monsieur) ont été plus que gentils et réactifs. Les chambres étaient impeccables. La nourriture é [... lire plus]tait excellente pour les Cubains qui ont accès aux importations. Nous avons apprécié le buffet et les restaurants le soir offraient un excellent service. Au buffet, Mariella et Hector se sont très bien occupés de nous. Ils travaillent si dur et avec tant de gentillesse Je ne suis pas une adepte de la piscine, mais ma fille s'est bien amusée ! Détente - pas de cuisine, pas de conduite et pas de nettoyage ! J'ai adoré le spectacle de Michael Jackson, mais les autres divertissements étaient trop bruyants et il faudrait un peu plus de variété. Tout le monde a été très réactif et gentil. Je reviendrai certainement ! C'est vraiment bien qu'il y ait une division entre la section la plus bruyante et la section la plus calme. Nous avons séjourné dans le bâtiment le plus serein ! Trop détendus pour faire les excursions ! :)

A very enjoyable week My parents (elderly) myself and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beach is one of the best I have experienced. It was windy some days and it meant we could whip along on the Catamaran and jump in waves; other days were absolutely still and calm so we could play endlessly. The cleaners in building 4 (esp. the gentleman) were more than kind and responsive. Rooms were immaculate. The food was great for Cuban access to imports. We enjoyed the buffet and then the restaurants at night offered great service. In the buffet we were cared for so well by Mariella and Hector. They work so hard and so graciously I am not a pool person but my daughter had fun! Relaxed - no cooking, no driving and no cleaning! I loved the Michael Jackson show but the other entertainment was too loud and needed a bit more variety. Everyone was so responsive and kind. I would return for sure! It is really great that there is a division in the louder section and the quiet section. We stayed in the most serene of buildings! Too relaxed to do the excursions! :)

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Un centre de villégiature exceptionnel

Ce complexe dispose d'une belle plage. Il y a beaucoup de choses à faire sur la plage, comme le kayak, etc. Tous les soirs, il y a des divertissements différents : comédie, flamant rose, danse aquatique, fête sur la plage, avec de grands chanteurs et bien d'autres choses encore. Les piscines sont très belles avec un bar de nage. Excellent service de la part du personnel !!!

Amazing resort This resort has a beautiful beach. The beach has lots to do as well like kayaking etc. Great entertainment every night different kinds like comedy, flamingo, aquatic dancing, beach party, with great singers and lots more. The pools are very nice with a swim up bar. Great service by their staff!!!

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Complexe touristique exceptionnel

Dhawa était magnifique. Les piscines étaient magnifiques. Le personnel était serviable, divertissant et arrangeant. Le snack-bar proposait des plats délicieux et vous ne pouviez pas avoir faim. Nous y reviendrons certainement !

Amazing Resort Dhawa was beautiful. The pools were amazing. The staff were helpful, entertaining and accomadating. The snack bar had wonderful food and you couldn't go hungry there. We will be back there again for sure!

Melia Buenavista: Un hôtel tranquille avec un excellent service

Nous avons apprécié cet hôtel avec un excellent service. La chambre était de bonne taille et offrait une vue sur l'océan au coucher du soleil. Les plages étaient magnifiques. La pizza au bord de la piscine était excellente. Il’ est sur le côté calme comme il’ n'est pas un hôtel énorme. Quelques inconvénients : il n'y avait plus de serviettes un jour et notre climatisation n'était pas terrible.

A quiet hotel with a great service We enjoyed this hotel with great service. The room was a good size with a sunset view of the ocean. The beaches were lovely. The pizza at the poolside was excellent. It’s on the quiet side as it’s not a huge hotel. A few cons: they ran out of towels on one day and our AC was not the greatest.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: De superbes vacances pour les vacances de mars

Je viens de rentrer d'un voyage d'une semaine avec ma fille pour les vacances de mars à Playa Cayo Santa Maria - Cuba. L'enregistrement à l'hôtel s'est fait en douceur et assez rapidement, sans surprise. J'ai demandé une chambre à deux lits lors de la réservation en ligne, et on m'a donné la possibilité de choisir une chambre avec vue sur la piscine. Le complexe est spacieux, avec de beaux paysages, les piscines sont très propres, le personnel très sympathique, du groom aux serveurs des restaura [... lire plus]nts (notamment Lianet- au Snack Bar), en passant par le personnel de ménage. Excellents divertissements (comédies musicales et danses), en journée et en soirée, à la piscine et dans le hall d'entrée. La plage est fantastique, du sable blanc et transparent avec une eau bleue propre, des activités nautiques et de nombreux espaces ombragés pour se détendre et profiter de la vue. Accès illimité aux boissons (non alcoolisées et alcoolisées), aux glaces, etc. toute la journée au bord des piscines. Chambres propres, pas très luxueuses, mais tout ce dont on a besoin pour passer des vacances de type chalet : dormir, se doucher, prendre son café du matin et se détendre. Le buffet offre beaucoup de choix ; cependant, personnellement, je n'ai pas trouvé la nourriture très appétissante, mais j'ai pu me débrouiller avec quelques recettes et je les ai mangées régulièrement. Le seul inconvénient est le manque d'accès à Internet ! On peut acheter un accès à l'heure, mais c'est très lent et on se connecte rarement. C'était mon premier voyage à Cuba et il a été positif. Je n'hésiterais pas à y retourner et je recommande vivement l'hôtel Playa.

Awesome March Break Vacation I just returned from a 1-week march break vacation trip with my daughter to Playa Cayo Santa Maria- Cuba. The check-in at the hotel was smooth and quite fast, no surprises. I asked at the online-reservation for 2-beds in the room, they were able to provide me with my choice with a nice pool view. The resort is spacious, with beautiful sceneries and landscape, pools are v clean, staff very friendly, from the bell-man to the waiters in the restaurants (namely Lianet- at the Snack Bar), to the housekeeping staff. Great entertainments (musicals and dancing), day time and evening time, at the pool and the lobby. The beach is fantastic, clear white sands with gorgeous blue clean water, access to water activities, and lots of shaded areas to relax and enjoy the view. Unlimited access to drinks (soft and alcoholic), ice creams, etc.. all day by the pools. Clean rooms, not v luxurious but all what u need when u r enjoying a Chalet-style vacation time: sleep, shower, enjoy ur morning coffee and relax. The buffet has lots of choices to choose from; however, personally, I did not find the food v appetizing but was able to manage few recipes and ate them on routine basis. The only inconvenience is poor access to internet! U can buy hourly internet access, but still it is v slow and rarely connected. That was my first trip to Cuba and it was a positive one. I would not hesitate to go again and highly recommend Playa Hotel.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Déçu

Le terrain de l'hôtel est très beau et bien entretenu. Les employés nettoient continuellement. Les toilettes publiques sont un désastre. Soit elles ne sont pas disponibles, soit elles sont malodorantes et mal nettoyées. De nombreuses petites fourmis rampaient sur tout ce qui se trouvait dans notre chambre. J'ai prévenu la femme de chambre qui a fait de son mieux mais elles réapparaissaient toujours. L'aéroport à notre arrivée était un désastre. 5 vols sont arrivés en même temps et le personnel n [... lire plus]'a rien fait pour arrêter le flux de personnes essayant de passer la sécurité. Nous avons passé une heure et demie à essayer de passer et quand nous l'avons fait, nous avons dû essayer de trouver nos bagages parmi 3 000 autres personnes. Cet aéroport est trop petit pour accueillir le nombre de touristes qui arrivent et repartent, car nous avons eu le même problème en repartant. Ce complexe n'a pas assez de parasols sur la plage pour accueillir le nombre de clients qui y séjournent. J'ai dû me lever tous les jours à 4h30 du matin pour trouver un parasol. Je suis totalement épuisée d'avoir dû faire cela pendant 2 semaines. De plus, la banque ne change que les pesos en pièces de 10,00 et pas plus. Je ne reviendrai jamais ici et je ne recommanderai jamais ce complexe à ma famille ou à mes amis. Le bon côté des choses, ce sont les gens. La plupart du personnel était formidable.

Disappointed The grounds of the resort are very attractive and maintained well. Workers are continually cleaning. Public bathrooms are a disaster. Either not available or they are stinky and not cleaned well. Many little ants crawling on everything in our room. I advised the maid and she did her best but they always reappeared. The airport upon our arrival was a disaster. 5 flights arrived at the same time and the personnel did nothing to stop the flow of people trying to get through security. We spent an hour and half trying to get through and when we did, we had to try and find our luggage along with 3,000 other people. This airport is too small to accommodate the number of tourists arriving and departing, as we had the same problem leaving. This resort does not have enough shade umbrellas on the beach to accommodate the number of guests staying here. I had to be up at 4.30 am everyday to secure shade. I am totally exhausted from having to do this for 2 weeks. As well, the bank will only change their pesos to coins of 10.00 and no more.I found the bank personnel rude and not accommodating. I will never return here or recommend this resort to my family or friends. The bright side was the people. Most of the staff were terrific.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Belle plage !!!

La plage est probablement la meilleure que nous ayons vue à Cuba, et nous y sommes allés huit fois. Le terrain n'est pas mûr mais bien entretenu. Le complexe est encore assez récent et les récents ouragans n'ont certainement pas aidé. Hector au buffet était un plaisir absolu et nous a offert un service merveilleux tout au long de la semaine. Les activités à la piscine ont diverti nos filles adolescentes et il y avait beaucoup de chaises disponibles. Nos chambres étaient parfaites. Les lits é [... lire plus]taient raisonnablement confortables et les douches étaient en céramique, de sorte que l'eau ne s'accumulait pas dans une baignoire bouchée pendant que nous prenions une douche (nous avons connu cela à plusieurs reprises à Cuba) La seule chose que nous avons à dire est qu'il y avait une odeur désagréable provenant du véhicule de fumigation des insectes qui passait tous les jours. Plus particulièrement à l'heure du dîner... pas très appétissant. Dans l'ensemble, nous n'avons pas de plaintes majeures, et nous recommanderions ce centre de villégiature à nos amis et à notre famille !

Beautiful Beach!!! The beach is probably the best we have seen in Cuba, and we have been 8 times now. The grounds are not mature but well maintained. The resort is still quite new and the recent hurricanes certainly didn’t help. Hector at the buffet was an absolute pleasure and gave us wonderful service all week long. The activities at the pool kept our teenage daughters entertained and there were plenty of chairs available. Our rooms were perfect. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the showers were stand-up ones made in ceramic, so not water build-up in a plugged tub while taking a shower (we have experienced this several times in Cuba) The only bad thing we have to say is that there was an unpleasant smell from the bug fumigating vehicle that passed everyday. More specifically during supper time...not too appetizing. Overall we have no major complaints, and we would recommend this resort to our friends and family!

Superbe station propre avec un personnel sympathique, mais la barrière de la langue rendait parfois la communication difficile. Assortiment incroyable de nourriture, personne ne restera sur sa faim dans cet endroit. Station réservée aux adultes, nettoyée tous les jours et traitée contre les moustiques toutes les nuits. Chariots de 8 places avec des chauffeurs sympathiques et amusants pour vous emmener dans les trois stations et au marché si nécessaire. Océan propre, sable blanc et doux, chais [... lire plus]es et parasols. Il y a un bar et un grill à quelques pas de la plage, de la bonne nourriture et des boissons qui ne peuvent pas être plus proches. La plage est surveillée par des sauveteurs au cas où la houle deviendrait trop forte dans l'océan. Les piscines sont grandes dans ce complexe réservé aux adultes, avec de nombreuses chaises et cabanas pour se mettre à l'ombre, ainsi qu'un espace pour les massages, et une station de grillades. Le bar de la piscine et les barmen sont formidables et sympathiques et se mettent en quatre pour vous satisfaire. Le bar à l'enregistrement est ouvert 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7, donc si vous avez besoin de manger, il y a de la nourriture à tout moment. Dans l'ensemble, les vacances et l'emplacement étaient excellents, nous recommandons cet endroit si vous voulez des vacances relaxantes. Oh oui, il y a aussi des animations nocturnes.

resort Great clean resort with friendly staff. however language barrier made it hard to communicate at times. Amazing assortments of food, no one will go hungry at this location. Adults only resort cleaned daily and sprayed for mosquiteos nightly. Go carts that seat 8 with friendly and funny drivers to take you around the three resorts and to the market if required. Ocean clean with white soft sand, chairs and umbrellas. There is a bar and grill just a few steps from the beach, great food and drinks cant get any closer. Note the beach does have lifeguards that patrol just in case the swells get to big in the Ocean. Pools are large in the Adults only resort, many chairs and cabanas for shade as well as a massage location, this area also has a grilling station. Pool bar and bartenders are great and friendly and go out of their way to please. The bar at check in is opened 24/7 so if you need to eat there is food at all times. All in all the vacation and location was great, we would recommend this location if you want a quite relaxing vacation. Oh yes, there is nightly entertainment as well.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Dhawa - un lieu de villégiature charmant et propre - des gens adorables

Nous venons de rentrer de Dhawa, Cayo Santa Maria. C'est mon 12e voyage à Cuba. Le charmant peuple cubain m'incite à revenir. Le personnel était amical, poli et serviable, même avec des connaissances linguistiques limitées. Ils avaient toujours le sourire aux lèvres. Notre chambre était spacieuse et très propre. Nous étions au 3ème étage et avions une vue intéressante sur la lagune et la plage (bâtiment 11). Les jardins sont magnifiques et les jardiniers peuvent être fiers de leur travail. Le  [... lire plus]bord de la piscine est propre et il y a des animations et des activités quotidiennes pour tous les âges. Il faudrait ajouter plus de chaises pour faire de l'ombre et en début d'après-midi, il est très difficile de trouver un endroit où s'asseoir. La plage est charmante et offre de nombreuses activités nautiques. Il y a également un manque de chaises à l'ombre sur la plage. Le salon n'est pas assez grand pour accueillir tout le monde le soir et il faudrait limiter davantage l'usage du tabac en affichant des panneaux à cet effet. Étant donné que nous ne sommes pas exposés à cela chez nous au Canada, nous ne sommes plus habitués à une telle quantité de tabac, en particulier pour les jeunes enfants. Le salon est animé tous les soirs et les tables sont toujours propres. Il y a également des places assises dans le hall pour ceux qui souhaitent un moment plus calme. Le buffet est très fréquenté et les files d'attente sont nombreuses aux postes de restauration. La nourriture doit absolument être améliorée au buffet avec plus de variété (pas seulement des assiettes de pâtes et de riz avec un mélange de viandes et de légumes ajoutés). J'ai été assez déçu par l'al a cartes, le meilleur étant le restaurant français. C'est la nourriture qui m'empêcherait de revenir et, rappelez-vous, c'était mon 12ème voyage à Cuba.

Dhawa - lovely, clean resort - love the people We just came back from Dhawa, Cayo Santa Maria. This is my 12th trip to Cuba. The lovely Cuban people keep me returning. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful, even with some limited language skills. They always had a smile on their face. Our room was spacious and kept very clean. We were located on the 3rd floor and had an interesting view of both the lagoon and the beach (building 11). The grounds are beatiful and the gardeners should be very proud of their work. The poolside is kept clean and there is daily entertainment and activities provided for all ages. More chairs providing shade need to be added and by early afternoon it is very hard to find any place to sit. The beach is lovely with lots of water activities available. There is a shortage of chairs in the shade at the beach as well. The lounge area is not large enough to accomodate everyone in the evening and smoking needs to be more limited with signage posted. Given that we aren't exposed to this at home in Canada, we are no longer used to this amount of smoking, especially for young children. There is nightly entertainment in the lounge and the tables are always kept clean. There is also seating in the lobby as well for those wishing a more quiet moment. The buffet is quite busy and there are large lineups at the food stations. The food definitely needs to be improved at the buffet with more variety (not just plates of pasta and rice with a mixture of added meats and vegetables). I was quite disappointed in the al a cartes with the best being the French restaurant. It would be the food that would keep me from returning and, remember, this was my 12th trip to Cuba.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: A adoré le centre de villégiature

Nous avons séjourné pendant 7 jours et c'était notre première fois dans ce complexe. Nous avons adoré le resort, il était magnifique et la plage était incroyable. Les piscines sont magnifiques. Il faut sortir tôt pour trouver de l'ombre. Notre chambre était très propre et la femme de chambre a fait un excellent travail. Il y a eu quelques améliorations dans les chambres. Les lits étaient confortables. La nourriture était bonne, mais un peu répétitive à la fin de notre séjour. Nous y retourneri [... lire plus]ons. Ils ont vraiment travaillé dur après l'ouragan Irma pour remettre les choses en état !

Loved the Resort We stayed for 7 days and was our first time at this resort. We loved the resort it was beautiful and the beach was amazing. Pools are beautiful. Need to get out early to get some shade tho. Our room was very clean and the maid did an excellent job. There has been some upgrades to rooms. Beds were comfortable. Food was good got a little repetitive by the end of our stay tho. We would go back. They have definitely worked hard after hurricane Irma to get things back running again!
