Fabulous Resort

Hôtel, terrain et service magnifiques. Le personnel était incroyable, amical et très attentif. Dans l'ensemble, très propre et belle plage. La plupart des membres du personnel étaient géniaux, mais quelques-uns se sont surpassés. Antonio et Orlando guest experience, Santiago et son équipe au steakhouse, Joel au restaurant principal et au restaurant de la plage et Gregorio pool bar. Ils ont fait en sorte qu'il vive une expérience très positive en tant que nouveau voyageur. Le personnel du restaurant japonais du Punta Cana était formidable, mais nous avons été déçus de ne pas être assis à la grande table pour observer le chef. Dans l'ensemble, la plupart des restaurants proposaient des plats savoureux mais généralement froids, en particulier les buffets. Le marché aux poissons et le restaurant brésilien de l'Esmeralda ont été les plus décevants, tant pour la nourriture que pour le service. Dans l'ensemble, une expérience de voyage merveilleuse.

Beautiful hotel, grounds, and service. Staff was amazing, friendly and very attentive. Overall, very clean and great beach area. Most staff were awesome but a few went above and beyond. Antonio and Orlando guest experience, Santiago and his team at the steakhouse, Joel in the main dining and beach restaurant and Gregorio pool bar. The pool activity staff were the best. They did everything to help our son-in-law who has mobility issues. They ensured a very positive experience for him as a new traveller. The Japanese restaurant staff at the Punta Cana were great but we were disappointed we weren't sitting at the big table to watch the Chef. Overall, most restaurants had tasty food but was usually cold, especially the buffets. The Fish Market and Brazilian at the Esmeralda were the most disappointing for both food and service. Overall, a wonderful travel experience.

BEAU CENTRE DE VILLÉGIATURE

L'hôtel et la nourriture étaient excellents, sauf que mon mari a été victime d'une intoxication alimentaire le jour de notre départ après avoir mangé un mini-sandwich pré-préparé au buffet. Il n'a fallu que 15 minutes pour qu'il vomisse et ait la diarrhée. Il lui a fallu deux jours pour se rétablir. Se lever à 5h30 du matin pour obtenir une chaise à l'ombre était ridicule. Les gens ne s'y asseyaient pas toute la matinée car ils passaient la matinée à la plage. Le deuxième jour, un client nou [... lire plus]s a dit que si vous vouliez obtenir une chaise, vous deviez payer les employés de la piscine. Il nous a dit que c'était comme ça.

BEAUTIFUL RESORT The hotel and food was great except my husband getting food poisoning the day we were leaving from eating a pre-made mini sandwich at the buffet. Only took15 minutes and he was vomiting and diarrhea. Took 2 days to recover. Getting up at 5.30 am to get a chair in the shade was ridiculous. People would not sit in them all morning as they spent the morning at the beach. We were told the second day by a guest that if you want to secure a chair you pay the pool guys. He said thats just the way it is.

Excellente destination de vacances

Belle piscine, plage et terrain. Chambres spacieuses et bien aménagées. Bonne nourriture et bon choix de restaurants. Super service et personnel de nettoyage. Les divertissements étaient corrects. Service de chambre disponible à tout moment.

Emplacement idéal - 3e visite. Quelques points à prendre en considération cependant.

L'Ambar est un hôtel charmant avec un personnel formidable, une superbe plage et une piscine, mais il aurait besoin d'être rafraîchi. C'était notre troisième séjour. La dernière fois, c'était il y a environ dix ans. Certaines chambres sont un peu vieillottes. Le représentant de Bahia Principe a tenu à préciser que plusieurs autres hôtels du groupe avaient récemment été rafraîchis et rénovés ; c'est maintenant au tour de l'Ambar. Cela dit, les animations étaient superbes et la plupart des rest [... lire plus]aurants excellents. Le service était bon. Seule exception, et pas dans le bon sens du terme, Maiko : c'était le chaos, de l'accueil au dessert. Limbo et Portofino étaient fabuleux. N'oubliez pas d'emporter un spray anti-moustiques si vous avez tendance à vous faire piquer par les mouches des sables. Mon mari a été piqué plusieurs fois aux jambes (moi pas, allez comprendre) et ça le démangeait beaucoup. Dans l'ensemble, je retournerais dans cet hôtel, mais je vérifierais d'abord si les rénovations ont été effectuées. Notre expérience avec Bahia Principe a été globalement bonne, et leur application améliorée est super.

Great location-3rd visit. Some things to consider though The Ambar is a lovely hotel with wonderful staff, great beach and pool, but it's due for a refresh. This was our 3rd visit. The last time was about 10 years ago. Some of the rooms are a bit tired. Bahia Principe rep made a point of saying that a couple of the other hotels in the group had recently been refreshed and renovated; time for the Ambar to have its turn. Having said that, entertainment was great, most restaurants wonderful. Service good. Exception, and not in a good way, Maiko; it was Chaos from the hostess to dessert. Limbo and Portofino were fabulous. Do bring along some bug spray if you tend to get bitten by sand flies--my husband got a lot of bites on his legs (I have none, go figure) and they were really itchy. All in all, I would go back to this hotel but would be checking to see if the renovations were done first. Our experience with Bahia Principe has been good overall, and their upgraded app is super.

Très beau complexe hôtelier !

Nous avons trouvé l'hôtel très propre, les jardins étaient très bien entretenus ?? Nous avons apprécié notre chambre, notre lit king size... Parfait pour nous ! J'aimerais qu'ils améliorent la nourriture. Elle était correcte... sans plus !!! Mais pas mauvaise. Le service était inégal. Certains membres du personnel étaient formidables, d'autres un peu désagréables. Un grand merci à Sandra qui s'est occupée de nous toute la semaine. Merci pour votre excellent service. Horam est également un vrai g [... lire plus]entleman, il était toujours là pour nous lorsque nous avions des questions ou des réservations. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter !

Very nice resort ! We found the hotel was very clean , the grounds were kept quite beautiful ❤️ we enjoyed our room , swim up king ... Perfect for us ! I would like it if they would improve on the food. It was ok ..not great by all means !!! But not bad. The service was hit and miss. Some staff were great and some a little rude. Shout out to Sandra who looked after us all week. Thank you for such great service. Also Horam is a complete gentleman he was there for us whenever we had questions or reservations. We will definitely go back !

Excellent

Magnifique complexe hôtelier, temps magnifique, cuisine délicieuse, divertissements incroyables... Mais le meilleur, ce sont les gens, le personnel, qui était très sympathique, toujours serviable et offrait un service irréprochable. Merci à tous les serveurs, serveuses, animateurs, employés de la plage et, bien sûr, au personnel d'entretien qui s'est assuré que nous ne manquions de rien. Merci Ygnacia.

Beautiful Resort, beautiful weather, amazing food, amazing entertainment the best part was the people, the Staff, they were so friendly, always helpful and the service was Top Notch. Superbe complexe hôtelier, mais qui ne convient pas à tout le monde.

Le complexe hôtelier proposait une cuisine et des équipements excellents. Les plages sont très belles et constituent un endroit idéal pour la plupart des gens. Nous avons été déçus par le bruit la nuit et l'ambiance festive qui ne convenait pas à tout le monde, surtout après une agréable baignade près de la piscine. Le volume sonore était trop élevé pendant la journée et certaines nuits pour pouvoir s'asseoir dehors et profiter de l'endroit à cause de la musique. Le choix musical était correct,  [... lire plus]mais le volume sonore correspondait plutôt à une ambiance de vacances de mars. Cela ne nous convenait pas, mais tout le reste était parfait.

Great resort but not for everyone Resort had great food and amenities. Beaches are very nice and a great place for most people. Disappointed with the noise at night and the party atmosphere which wasn’t for everyone, especially when you have a nice swim out near the pool and it was too loud during the day and a few nights to sit outside and enjoy due to the music. The music choice was fine but volume was like a March break atmosphere. Not for us but everything else eas great

Un séjour incroyable dans une station balnéaire magnifique

Nous avons adoré notre séjour au Bahia Principe Ambar. La plage a été le point fort pour moi - des kilomètres de sable lisse et magnifique sur lesquels nous avons marché pendant des heures. Le personnel est exceptionnellement amical et serviable. La piscine est magnifique et sa température est très agréable. Bien que l'hôtel ait été "plein", il y avait toujours des chaises longues disponibles à la piscine et à la plage. Les chambres sont immenses et magnifiques. Le concept de salle de bai [... lire plus]n/douche est ouvert, il faut donc être prévenu si ce n'est pas votre truc. Nos jeunes enfants adultes (un homme et une femme) partageaient la même chambre, ce qui a nécessité un peu d'organisation pour préserver l'intimité. Les restaurants étaient magnifiques et la nourriture était assez bonne. Le buffet principal était très copieux et si vous n'aimez pas manger en commun, il y avait toujours des plats préparés à la demande - œufs, poisson, pâtes, etc.

Incredible stay at a beautiful resort We loved our stay at the Bahia Principe Ambar. The beach was the highlight for me - miles of gorgeous smooth sand that we walked for hours on end. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The pool is beautiful and a very comfortable temperature. Although the resort was "at capacity", there were always loungers available at the pool and the beach. The rooms are huge and beautiful. Open bathroom/shower concept so just be forewarned if that's not your thing. Our young adult kids (male and female) were sharing a room and that took a bit of scheduling for privacy. The restaurants were beautiful and the food was pretty good. The main buffet was very plentiful and if you don't love eating from communal supplies, there was always menu items you could get made to order - eggs, fish, pasta, etc.

Absolument incroyable !

Nous sommes très heureux d'avoir choisi de réserver des vacances de Noël anticipées au Bahia Principe Luxary Ambar Punta Cana le 14 décembre avec Air Canada. C'était tout ce que nous espérions et plus encore. Les décorations étaient impeccables. L'attention, l'amabilité et les connaissances du personnel étaient inoubliables. Le buffet principal et La Brisa étaient toujours bien garnis avec des options délicieuses. Notre gouvernante, Sobeida, a été très attentive à nos besoins et a toujours appor [... lire plus]té une touche supplémentaire. Un grand coup de chapeau au personnel du bar de la piscine qui travaille dur, en particulier Bianca et Marlene. Le personnel de loisirs et les chauffeurs de trolley sont des personnes spéciales qui apportent vraiment une touche supplémentaire. Nous prévoyons de revenir en mars. Nous comptons les jours.

Absolutely Amazing! We are so pleased we chose to book an early Christmas vacation to Bahia Principe Luxary Ambar Punta Cana on Dec. 14th with Air Canada. It was everything we hoped for plus more. Decorations were impeccible. The attention, friendliness and knowledge of staff were unforgettable. The main buffet and La Brisa was always well stocked with delicious options. Our housekeeper Sobeida was very attentive to our needs and always added that extra touch. A huge shoutout to the hardworking pool bar staff especially Bianca and Marlene. Recreation staff and Trolley drivers are special people who truly give that extra touch. We plan to return in March. Counting down the days.

Un voyage extraordinaire

Le voyage était formidable et le personnel était si amical et serviable que nous y retournerons sans aucun doute. Bahai Príncipe Luxury Ámbar A Punta Cana, j'ai été tellement impressionné que j'y emmène ma sœur et ma nièce en avril 2026.

Des chats sauvages bruyants !

Le resort était magnifique mais la plupart des nuits, notre sommeil a été perturbé par les cris des chats sauvages. Nous avons également eu un cafard dans la chambre le dernier jour :/. La prise de courant dans la salle de bain avait des traces de brûlures et le sèche-cheveux ne fonctionnait pas.

Loud feral cats! The resort was beautiful but most nights were disrupted sleep because of screaming feral cats. We also experienced a Cockroach in room the last day :/. The outlet in out bathroom had burn marks on it and the blow dryer wouldn’t work in it.

Merveilleuse escapade !

Le complexe est absolument magnifique et le personnel est très aimable. Nous étions un très grand groupe et le complexe nous a accueillis pendant toute la durée du séjour. Nous avons également fêté plusieurs occasions et ils ont fait en sorte de nous fêter et de rendre l'expérience extrêmement spéciale

Wonderful getaway! The resort was absolutely beautiful and the staff was so kind. We were a very large group and the resort accommodated us the entire time. We were also celebrating multiple occasions and they made sure to celebrate us and make the entire experience extremely special

Pas terrible !

La nourriture n'est pas excellente - le service n'est pas excellent - la propreté n'est pas excellente - l'expérience au restaurant n'est pas excellente - dans l'ensemble, elle n'est pas excellente - je n'ai rien de vraiment bon à dire sur ce complexe.

Not great! Food not great - service not great - cleanliness not great - restaurant experience not great -overall not great - I have nothing really good to say about this resort.i would not recommend as an adults resort with all restaurants being a very bad experience.

Superbes chambres et plage Swim-Up

C'était notre sixième visite à l'hôtel de luxe Ambar Bahia et il ne cesse de nous impressionner. Il s'agit d'un complexe très bien équipé, avec une bonne sélection de restaurants à la carte et un buffet assez varié. Pour les personnes à mobilité réduite, il existe une passerelle en bois vers la plage, quelques terrasses en bois et un fauteuil roulant spécial qui peut être transporté jusqu'à l'océan. Notre chambre était bordée d'arbustes et d'immenses plantes tropicales qui nous cachaient  [... lire plus]la vue (en grande partie) C'est l'un des complexes 5 étoiles les moins chers de Punta Cana, mais je pense qu'il mérite tout de même une note de 5 étoiles. Il est très bien entretenu. Quelques membres du personnel ont rehaussé notre expérience par leur personnalité amicale et leur service efficace : Dosalina au bar du hall, Yasmenia qui sert sur la plage et Fanny, notre excellente femme de chambre. Je souhaite également faire un clin d'œil à Trip Central car j'adore la grille de vacances qui permet de comparer facilement les dates, les prix et les centres de villégiature tout compris.

Great Swim-Up rooms and beach This was our 6th visit to the Luxury Ambar Bahia and it never fails to impress us. It is a very well staffed resort with a good selection of a la carte restaurants and a pretty diverse buffet. For those with mobility challenges there is a wooden walkway to the beach, some wooden decks and access to a special wheelchair that can be wheeled into the ocean. We had a swim-up room that was bordered by shrubs and huge tropical plants that blocked us from view (mostly) This is one of least expensive 5 star resorts in Punta Cana but I still feel it deserves a 5 star rating. It is very well cared for. There were a few staff members that enhanced out experience with the friendly personalities and efficient service: Dosalina at the lobby bar, Yasmenia serving on the beach and Fanny, our excellent maid.. Also wish to give a shout out to Trip Central as I love the vacation grid which makes it easy to compare dates, prices and all-inclusive resorts.

Très bonne station

L'hôtel en général était bien. Le terrain était vraiment bien, la chambre était également en bon état mais les murs avaient besoin d'un coup de peinture, le personnel était vraiment professionnel et très serviable, l'animation pendant la journée près de la piscine principale était géniale, quant au buffet en janvier dernier, il était bien meilleur que cette fois-ci (novembre 2025), quant aux restaurants à la carte, ils étaient très bons.

Very good resort The hotel in general was ok. The grounds were really good, the room was also in good shape but the walls were in need of a paint job, the staff were really professionals and very helpful, the entertainment during the day by the main pool was great as for the food buffet last January it was a lot better than this time (November 2025) as for A La Carte restaurants they were very good.

Fantastic Hotel

Nous avons adoré l'hôtel. La chambre et le terrain étaient impeccables. La piscine et la plage ont dépassé nos attentes. De même, le service et la nourriture à toutes les cartes étaient exceptionnels. Nous avons préféré le buffet de la plage au buffet principal. Le seul bémol à notre expérience a été le service de bar à la piscine. En une semaine, nous n'avons jamais été approchés ni demandé si nous voulions quelque chose. Bien que cela ne nous dérange pas d'acheter nos propres boissons et que n [... lire plus]ous soyons de bons payeurs, nous avons été très déçus.

We loved the hotel. The room and grounds were immaculate. Both the pool and beach exceeded our expectations. As well the service and food at all the ala cartes was outstanding. We preferred the buffet at the beach to the main buffet. The only downside to our experience was the bar service at the pool. In one week we were never approached or asked if we would like anything. While we do not mind getting our own drinks and we are good tippers this was very disappointing.

C'est mon deuxième voyage à Bahia Principe. L'hiver dernier, nous avons séjourné à l'Esmeralda de luxe et ce mois d'octobre, nous avons séjourné à l'Ambar réservé aux adultes. Le service était excellent. La nourriture était excellente. Le terrain était magnifique et propre. Le seul hic que j'ai à dire sur cet hôtel, c'est que la moitié du personnel, voire plus de la moitié, n'était pas très aimable ou souriant. Les quelques personnes qui étaient très souriantes. J'ai pris le temps de leur dire  [... lire plus]en espagnol qu'ils faisaient un excellent travail et que le fait de sourire et d'être heureux fait beaucoup de bien. Je suis désolée, je ne me souviens pas des noms des quelques personnes qui étaient souriantes, mais je pense qu'ils doivent travailler sur ce point. La plage était agréable.

Great hotel, just missing smiles. This is my second trip to Bahia Principe. Last winter we stayed at the Esmeralda luxury and this October we stayed at the Ambar adults only. Service was great. Food was great. The grounds were beautiful and clean. The only hiccough I have to say about this Hotel was the staff half of them or even more than half or not very friendly or smiling. The few that were very smiling. I took the time to tell them in Spanish that they were doing a great job and smiling and being happy it goes a long way. I’m sorry I can’t remember the names of the few that were smiling, but I do think they need to work on that point. The beach was nice.

J'ai adoré

La nourriture était excellente et il y avait un bon nombre d'options végétariennes. Les chambres et les salles de bains étaient toujours propres, ce qui était vraiment agréable. L'inconvénient est qu'il n'y avait pas de service de boissons à la plage ou à la piscine, nous devions donc faire des démarches supplémentaires lorsque nous voulions des boissons. Loved it Food was wonderful and there were a decent amount of vegetarian options. Rooms and bathrooms were clean always, which was really nice. Downside was there wasn’t drink service at the beach or pool, so we just had to make extra steps when we wanted drinks. Also, there was a constant stream of people trying to sell you things on the beach. Overall, it was a wonderful trip

Belle station balnéaire

Il y avait des points positifs et des points moins positifs. Le terrain était bien entretenu, notre chambre (coin baignade) était spacieuse et propre. Nous avons apprécié les baignades de l'après-midi. Nous ne sommes pas des gastronomes, mais nous avons préparé nos repas à l'avance, avec des créneaux horaires adaptés à nos besoins. Nous avons beaucoup aimé M.E.A.T et Limbo... les autres étaient bons, mais ces deux-là étaient nos préférés. La plage était bondée, il était donc impossible de t [... lire plus]rouver une zone ombragée, même si personne ne se présentait pendant des heures... un peu déçu, nous n'y avons pas passé trop de temps, car il faisait très chaud. Les vendeurs sur la plage pouvaient parfois être un peu pénibles, mais c'est le cas partout. Je n'ai pas utilisé la grande piscine, car j'ai apprécié notre baignade. Les points négatifs.. Certains membres du personnel n'étaient pas très aimables, les boissons étaient très fortes et il y avait beaucoup d'insectes, beaucoup de musique espagnole à fond tout au long de la journée. Si vous n'aimez pas les chats, vous devriez peut-être vous en éloigner... il y en avait beaucoup... nous en avons eu 7 sur notre terrasse, un matin. Dans l'ensemble, un bon complexe hôtelier..

Nice resort There was some positives and not so postives. The grounds were well kept, our room (corner swim up) was spacious and clean. We enjoyed our afternoon swims. We are not foodies, but precooked our food ahead of time, with the dinner slots that fit our needs. We really enjoyed M.E.A.T and Limbo..the other ones were good, but those two were our favourites. The beach was crowded, so to find a shaded area was impossible..even if nobody showed up for hours…a little disappointed, so we did not spend to long there, as it got very hot. The vendors on the beach could sometimes be a little pesky, but you get it everywhere. I did not use the big pool, as I enjoyed our swim up. The negatives… Some staff were not so friendly, drinks were very strong and lots of bugs, a lot of loud Spanish music blaring throughout the day..seemed to play the same music..if you are not a cat person, might want to stay clear…lots of them..we had 7 on our deck, one morning. Overall, a nice resort…

Beautiful Resort

Ce complexe est magnifique ! Les chambres étaient propres et spacieuses, le terrain était bien entretenu. La piscine était magnifique, bien que parfois bondée et les salons disponibles étaient difficiles à trouver. Le personnel était très efficace, la variété et la qualité des boissons étaient excellentes. Il y avait un grand choix de restaurants et la plupart des plats étaient excellents.

This resort was beautiful! The rooms were clean and spacious, the grounds were well maintained. The pool was beautiful, although crowded at times and availble lounges were difficult to find. The staff was very efficient, the variety and quality of drinks was excellent . There was a great choice of restaurants and most of the food was great.
