Occidental Arenas Blancas: Tout à fait, même selon les critères cubains

Si la plage et l'océan sont magnifiques, le service clientèle de l'hôtel est un exemple d'incompétence : de l'arrivée (seulement 6) de nouveaux clients à 11 heures à l'attente jusqu'à 16 heures avant de les laisser entrer dans leur chambre ; à deux cuillères pour dix saladiers au restaurant (vraiment comique) ; à la moitié des tables occupées et l'autre moitié couverte de vaisselle sale et aucune propre dans les restaurants aux heures de pointe ; à l'incapacité du personnel de la réception à off [... lire plus]rir des indications précises et cohérentes dans Varadero ; la liste est encore longue. Dans l'ensemble, c'est le pire que j'ai vu à Cuba - c'était mes huitièmes vacances sur l'île. Si vous pouvez fermer les yeux sur un hôtel mal géré, vous pouvez quand même avoir une expérience passable. Je recommande toutefois de ne pas fréquenter cet hôtel et, très probablement, tous les autres hôtels de la chaîne Barcelo, où qu'ils soient.

Quite, even by Cuban standards While the beach and the ocean are wonderful, hotel customer service is a study in incompetence: from having (only 6) newly arrived guests at 11 a.m. wait until 4 p.m. before letting them into their rooms; to having two spoons for ten salad bowls in the restaurant (positively comical); to having half the tables occupied and half covered with dirty dishes and none clean in restaurants at peak times; to front desk staff's inability to offer consistent accurate directions within Varadero; the list goes on. Overall, the worst I have seen in Cuba - this was my eighth vacation on the island. If you can close your eyes to to a badly mismanaged hotel, you may still have a passable experience. I would however have recommend staying away from this hotel, and, quite possibly from all other hotels of the Barcelo chain anywhere.

Club Kawama: Une expérience de vacances extraordinaire !

C'était nos premières vacances tropicales en famille ! Le centre de villégiature était magnifique ! Propre ! Les trois piscines étaient incroyables ! Le personnel était incroyable. Nous avions deux spectacles par jour au bord de la piscine, l'un à 16 heures et l'autre à 21 h 30. La plage était propre. Il y avait beaucoup de choses à faire pour nous en famille, un chest board grandeur nature, du kayak, du bateau à voile, du padal, de la plongée avec tuba, du basket-ball, du billard, du ping-pong, [... lire plus] du volley-ball, du tennis....tout inclus.....enos enfants, âgés de 11 et 13 ans, ont passé des moments extraordinaires dans un environnement sûr. La sécurité était stricte et nous ne nous sommes jamais sentis en danger, en tant que parents, nous pouvions nous détendre et nous amuser. Le centre de villégiature a veillé à ce que les chambres soient contiguës, ce qui nous a permis de passer un séjour confortable et agréable en famille. Nous recommandons vivement ce centre de villégiature. Tous ceux à qui nous avons parlé et qui venaient d'autres centres de villégiature auraient souhaité rester au Club Kawama car il y avait tellement plus de choses à voir, de spectacles, d'atmosphère amusante, d'offres inclusives :)

Amazing vacation experience! This was our first family tropical vacation! The resort was beautiful! Clean! The three pools were Amazing! The staff were incredible. We had two shows a day pool side, one at 4pm and the other at 930pm. The beach was kept clean. There were lots of things for us as a family to do , a lifesize chest board, kayaking, sail boating, padal boating, snorkeling, basketball, billiards, ping pong, volleyball, tennis....all inclusive.....our children, aged 11 and 13 had an amazing time in a safe environment. Security was tight and we never felt unsafe are in any harms way, as parents we could relax and have fun . The resort ensured adjoining rooms so we had a comfortable lovely family trip. Highly recommend this resort. Anyone we spoke to from other resorts, wished they had stayed at Club kawama as there were so many more things to take in, the shows, the fun atmosphere, the inclusive offerings:)

Hotel Villa Cuba: Bon rapport qualité/prix

C'était notre premier voyage à Cuba et nous n'avons pas été déçus ! Villa Cuba a une belle plage, un personnel sympathique, surtout si vous leur donnez un pourboire, une bonne sélection de boissons et une vue imprenable depuis le bar sur le toit. La chambre était correcte, mais il faut absolument travailler sur la plomberie car nous avons eu des fuites d'eau dans la salle de bain. Nous avions la vue sur la piscine, qui est assez bruyante la nuit jusqu'à minuit et une heure du matin, mais la vue  [... lire plus]est magnifique !

Good value for the money paid It was our first trip to Cuba and we were not disappointed! Villa Cuba has nice beach, friendly staff, especially if you tip them, good selection of drinks and stunning view from the bar on the roof. Room was OK, but they definitely need to work on plumbing as we had water leaking in the bathroom. We had pool view, which is quite loud at night till 12 - 1 am, but has astonishing view!

Hotel Villa Cuba: C'est Cuba - j'ai passé un bon moment :)

L'hôtel n'est pas très grand, et c'est ce que je voulais parce que mon épouse a récemment subi une opération du genou. Notre chambre était bien, beaucoup d'autres clients n'avaient pas de pression d'eau, d'eau chaude ou de climatisation, mais heureusement nous avions tout cela :) nous avons rencontré des gens extraordinaires. Il y avait toujours beaucoup de nourriture et de boissons. Le personnel était très amical. C'est Cuba, on en a pour son argent, je ne suis jamais déçue, j'y suis allée 6 fo [... lire plus]is.

It's Cuba - I had a great time :) The hotel isn't huge, which is what I wanted because my spouse recently had knee surgery. Our room was fine, a lot if other guests didn't have good water pressure, hot water, or AC - but luckily we had it all :) we met some amazing people there. There's was always plenty of food and drinks. The staff were very friendly. It's Cuba, you get what you pay for, I'm never disappointed, been there 6 times.

Hotel Inglaterra: Hôtel historique de La Havane

L'hôtel était très intéressant avec beaucoup d'architecture extérieure et intérieure rappelant l'ancien temps de la vie gracieuse à La Havane. Les petits déjeuners étaient médiocres, il n'y avait pas de poivre sur les œufs. Le personnel était bon à l'exception du personnel de la réception qui était indifférent.

Historic Havana hotel Hotel was very interesting with lots of exterior and interior architecture reminiscent of the old days of gracious living in Havana. Breakfasts were poor with no pepper to put on eggs. Staff was good except for front desk staff who were indifferent.

Club Kawama: Beaucoup de charme, excellent personnel

C'est mon deuxième séjour au Kawama, il a reçu les mises à jour dont il avait besoin. Nouvelle piscine, nouvelles chaises de plage et de piscine, meilleur éclairage, etc... tout en conservant son charme et son côté rustique. L'emplacement est excellent, belle plage, restaurants, banque et marchés à distance de marche. Ce complexe a un air de fête et est suffisamment petit pour que vous n'ayez jamais de mal à vous faire de nouveaux amis. J'ai vraiment apprécié la nourriture et je n'ai jamais eu d [... lire plus]e problèmes gastriques comme lors de mes précédents voyages à Cuba. Ma plus grande bête noire est le problème des moustiques et des puces de sable au bar de la piscine... Je recommande *fortement* d'apporter un spray anti-moustiques (plus la bombe est grosse, mieux c'est) et d'en mettre beaucoup à chaque fois que vous passez du temps après la tombée de la nuit, n'importe où, mais surtout au bar de la piscine. Les coffres-forts des chambres s'ouvrent également avec une carte-clé programmable. J'ai apporté des autocollants inviolables, juste pour ma tranquillité d'esprit, mais aussi dans l'espoir de dissuader toute intrusion pendant mon absence. Notre groupe de voyageurs s'agrandit et beaucoup prévoient de revenir en avril, ce que je ferai sans hésiter. Les clients réguliers sont bien traités ici. Je recommande sans hésiter ce complexe pour son emplacement et son rapport qualité-prix.

Lots of charm, excellent staff This is my 2nd stay at Kawama, It got the updates it needed. New pool, new beach and pool chairs, better lighting etc and still maintains its charm/rustic feel. The location is great, beautiful beach, restaurants, bank and markets within walking distance. This resort has a party feel and is small enough that you never have trouble making new friends. I really enjoyed the food and never had gastric problems like all of my previous Cuba trips. My biggest pet peeve with this resort is the mosquito/sand flea problem at the pool bar.. I *strongly* recommend bringing bug spray(bigger can the better) and being very liberal with it anytime you're spending time after dark anywhere but especially at the pool bar. Also the in room safe are opened with a programmable key card. I brought tamper proof stickers just for my own piece of mind but also hoping to deter an entry while away. Our travel group is growing and alot are planning on returning in April which I will do in a heart beat. Repeat guests are treated well here. I defiantly recommend this resort for the location and value.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Moyenne

Nous avons également séjourné ici l'année dernière. Belle situation, plage, piscine et terrain. Bonne nourriture. Très bon personnel. Pourrait utiliser de l'eau chaude pour la douche. Le bâtiment fuit depuis un certain temps et commence à sentir le renfermé, mais c'est un endroit très relaxant.

Average Stayed here last year also. Beautiful location, beach , pool and grounds. Good food. Great staff. Could use some hot water for shower. Building leaking for some time, as beginning to be musty. but, is a very relaxing place.

Roc Barlovento: Pas ce que j'attendais

l'hôtel a besoin de réparations, tout n'était pas ouvert régulièrement, j'ai eu l'occasion il y a quelques années d'y rendre visite à des amis pour la journée et le complexe s'est dégradé depuis. la nourriture me rappelait un hôtel 1 ou 2 étoiles à Cuba, bien que je sois allé à Cuba plus de 20 fois, ce voyage a été très décevant. Il avait été fortement recommandé par des amis qui y ont séjourné de nombreuses fois, qui étaient avec nous cette fois-ci et qui pensent la même chose à propos de l'hôt [... lire plus]el.

Not what i expected the hotel is in need of repair, not all was open on a regular bases, had opportunity a couple of years ago to visit friends there for the day and the resort has gone down hill since them. although they are starting to do repairs and to add some things to the hotel but these repairs will talk time. the food reminded me of a 1 or 2 star resort in Cuba, although I have been to Cuba more than 20 times this trip was most disappointing. it came highly recommended by friends that have stayed there many times, whom was with us this time and feel the same about the resort. all and the sun, the beach and relaxation was the best.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Tout juste OK

Les bâtiments et les terrains ont besoin de beaucoup de travail. Il devrait y avoir des restrictions sur l'usage du tabac. Le hall d'entrée était vraiment mauvais. La douche de la salle de bains fuyait sur tout le sol. Quant à la femme de chambre, elle n'a pas fait son travail. J'ai payé pour un forfait VIP et nous avons dû demander tout ce qui était dans le forfait.

Just OK The buildings and grounds needed a lot of work. There should be some kind of restrictions..on smoking. The lobby area was really bad. The shower in the bathroom leaked all over the floor. As far as the maid goes she did not do her job. I paid for a VIP package and we had to ask for everything that was in the package.

Hotel Villa Cuba: soso

cet hôtel était probablement un 4 étoiles il y a 30 ans, maintenant je lui donnerais 2 étoiles au plus, l'hôtel était très négligé, il avait besoin de beaucoup d'entretien, partout où vous regardez quelque chose était cassé, ou ne fonctionnait pas, il a fallu 2 jours pour changer de chambre, le personnel était génial en général, la nourriture juste ok,... Ce ne sera pas mon endroit favori pour revenir.

this hotel was probably a 4 stars 30 years ago now i would give it a 2 stars at the most, hotel was very neglected,need a lot of maintenance,everywhere you look something was broken,or not working, took 2 day's to switch room,staff was great in general, food just ok,.Will not be my favorite place to return.

Amazing resort is Villa Cuba SIMPLY AMAZING RESORT PUBLIC AREAS WAS GOOD,ROOMS WAS GOOD,DINING WAS GOOD, SERVICE ,FOOD,BEACHES WAS GOOD . I WILL RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO A FRIEND. WE HAD AMAZING TIME THERE AND WE LIKE TO GO AGAIN THERE.

Roc Barlovento: Bon point

Très typique, un 3 étoiles haut de gamme. Le personnel était bon et a fait un effort. Hors saison, ils ne vont pas avoir un grand choix de nourriture ou de divertissement. Comme d'habitude, trop de sel dans la nourriture pour l'amélioration. Ils pourraient essayer les épices (s'ils peuvent se les offrir ou y avoir accès) pour obtenir une nourriture plus saine. En général, on ne va pas à Cuba pour la nourriture.

Good spot Very typical, an upper end 3 star. Staff were good and made an effort. Off season so they are not going to have big selection with food or entertainment. As usual too much salt in the food for enhancement. They could try spices (if they can afford or access them) to make a healthier bounty. Generally one does not go to Cuba for the food.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Hôtel idéal pour les amateurs d'animaux

C'est la deuxième fois que nous allons dans cet hôtel. Nous aimons les chats et nous avons donc adoré cet hôtel. Il y en a beaucoup qui courent partout :) Je comprends que cela puisse gêner certaines personnes, donc si vous n'aimez pas les animaux, n'allez pas dans cet hôtel, vous ne l'apprécierez pas. La plage est la meilleure. Nous avons marché sur la plage jusqu'au centre ville de Varadero, et sommes passés devant tous les hôtels sur le chemin, et je peux vous dire que la plage de Villa Cuba [... lire plus] est bien meilleure, plus large et plus propre que n'importe quel autre hôtel sur le chemin. La piscine est très bien aussi, pas trop de chlore comme au Canada. Les boissons sont également excellentes, très variées, rhum, whisky, gin, vodka, tequila, tout ce que vous voulez. J'ai bu 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7, et j'ai toujours été satisfait des boissons. La nourriture est correcte. Le petit déjeuner est excellent, ils font des crêpes et des omelettes devant vous. Le dîner n'est pas aussi bon, mais le souper est excellent aussi. Il y a toujours du poulet et du poisson. Et toujours de la glace, ce qui est très important quand il fait chaud dehors. Le personnel de la réception est très serviable, tout comme le représentant de Sunwing. Dans l'ensemble, c'est une très bonne expérience.

Great hotel if you like animals Second time going to this hotel. We love cats so we loved this hotel. There are many of them running around :) I understand it will annoy some people, so if you don't like animals don't go to this hotel, you won't enjoy it. The beach is the best. We walked on the beach to the Varadero city center, and passed all the hotels along the way, and i can tell you the beach in Villa Cuba is much better, wider, and cleaner than any other hotel on the way. The pool is great too, not too much chlorine like in Canada. Drinks are great too, lots of variety, rum, whisky, gin, vodka, tequila, anything you want. I was drinking 24/7 and always was satisfied with the drinks. Food is ok. Breakfast is great, they make pancakes, omelettes right in front of you. Dinner is not so good, but Supper is great too. Always chicken, and fish available. And always they have ice cream, which is very important when it is hot outside. Great front desk staff, very helpful, also the representative for sunwing was very helpful too. Just overall a great experience.

j'adore le personnel et les gens et c'est propre ils me traitent bien .le temps est fantastique je me sens bien quand je suis là nager scooba plonger beaucoup à faire aussi les services sont bons endroit sûr pour être bonne nourriture même un endroit agréable pour les enfants belle piscine 4

Club Amigo Ancon: Très bon budget vacances !

Ma sœur et moi (toutes deux seniors), avons passé une semaine très agréable au Club Amigo Ancon à la fin du mois de septembre 2014. Notre chambre était vraiment agréable, avec une belle vue sur la plage et l'océan. Elle avait une excellente salle de bain (baignoire complète, sèche-cheveux etc. et d'une propreté irréprochable) avec beaucoup d'eau chaude, et une bonne pression d'eau. Nous avions un mini-réfrigérateur (bouteille d'eau fraîche tous les jours), un coffre-fort et un climatiseur à comm [... lire plus]ande numérique de première qualité. Les lits sont également très confortables. Nous étions dans le bâtiment "supérieur". La plage était absolument magnifique, et l'océan agréable pour nager....pas de rochers ou de coraux, et une belle pente graduelle dans l'eau, qui devenait assez profonde pour nager à quelques pieds du rivage. Parfait ! Beaucoup de palapas disponibles pour l'ombre, bien qu'un certain nombre de chaises longues de plage étaient fissurées ou cassées. Ce complexe est TRES accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite (ou aux mamans avec des poussettes !) ... il y a des rampes partout et des trottoirs en bois qui mènent à la plage. MAIS, bizarrement, il n'y a pas d'ascenseurs dans le bâtiment le plus récent (supérieur), ce qui semble étrange (et peu pratique ! !) Malheureusement, la piscine était complètement inutilisable pendant toute la semaine où nous y étions. Elle ressemblait à une soupe de pois, on ne pouvait même pas voir le fond ! Ce n'était pas un gros problème pour nous, car nous préférons nager dans l'océan, mais cela a dû être très décevant pour les personnes qui préfèrent la piscine. Et le temps était très chaud cette semaine-là ! Je dois dire que la nourriture n'était pas la meilleure caractéristique de ce complexe, mais c'est peut-être parce que c'était la basse saison et qu'ils ont peut-être adapté la nourriture aux nombreuses familles cubaines locales qui séjournaient à ce moment-là. Les petits déjeuners étaient agréables (œufs, omelettes, jus d'orange frais, fruits, etc. etc.) mais la nourriture du déjeuner et du dîner (à l'exception de quelques très beaux poissons) était assez monotone. Nous avons principalement mangé au snack bar ouvert 24 heures sur 24, qui servait des pizzas, des frites, des hamburgers et des sandwichs assez savoureux, et nous sommes allés au buffet pour le dessert (de très bonnes glaces ! !). Nous ne sommes pas morts de faim ! La route est très longue (3 heures) depuis l'aéroport (Santa Clara), mais les paysages sont absolument spectaculaires, et c'était donc très agréable de jour. Dans l'obscurité, pas vraiment ! Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre semaine à l'hôtel Ancon....e souhaiterions pouvoir rester plus longtemps ! !!

Very good budget vacation! My sister and I (both seniors), spent a very enjoyable week at Club Amigo Ancon at the end of Sept.2014. Our room was really nice, with a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. It had an excellent bathroom (full tub, hairdryer etc. and spotlessly clean) with lots of hot water, and good water pressure. We had a mini fridge (fresh bottle of water every day), safe, and a top-notch, digitally controlled air conditioner. Also very comfortable beds. We were in the ''Superior '' building. The beach was absolutely gorgeous, and the ocean nice for swimming....no rocks or coral, and a nice gradual slope into the water, which got deep enough to swim within a few feet of the shoreline. Perfect !! Lots of palapas available for shade, although quite a number of the beach loungers were cracked or broken. This resort is VERY accessible for anyone with mobility issues (or mom's with strollers!) ...there are ramps everywhere, and wooden boardwalks leading down to the beach. BUT, strangely,no elevators in the newer (Superior) building, which seems odd (and inconvenient!!) Unfortunately, the pool was completely unuseable for the entire week that we were there. It looked like pea soup, you could not even SEE the bottom!! This was not a big issue for us, as we prefer to swim in the ocean, but must have been very disappointing for people who prefer the pool. And the weather was HOT that week !! I have to say that the food was not the best feature of this resort, although this is possibly because it was low season, and they may have been gearing the food to the many local Cuban families that were staying at that time. The breakfasts were nice (eggs, omelettes, lovely fresh orange juice, fruit etc. etc.) but the food at lunch and dinner (with the exception of some very nice fish) was quite monotonous. We ate mainly at the 24 hr. snack bar, which served quite tasty pizzas, fries, burgers and sandwiches, and just went to the buffet for dessert (very nice ice cream !!). We certainly didn't starve !! It is a very long (3 hour) drive from the airport (Santa Clara), but the scenery is absolutely spectacular, so was quite enjoyable during daylight hours. In the dark, not so much !! We really enjoyed our week at Hotel Ancon....wish we could have stayed longer !!

Hotel Villa Cuba: villa cuba- oh a changé !

Cet hôtel a changé par rapport à il y a 4 ans, il est un peu moins bon pour votre argent. Bien qu'il n'y ait pas eu beaucoup de monde, il y avait beaucoup de clients de 1 à 2 ans ou de séjours d'une semaine qui étaient des Cubains locaux, donc si vous parliez anglais, vous vous sentiez certainement en minorité. Le week-end, il y avait plus de monde et le buffet était difficile à trouver. le personnel est gentil, donnez un pourboire, il sera apprécié. Le sol est superbe et la piscine, la plage, c [... lire plus]ertaines chambres sont bien entretenues et/ou récemment rénovées. Le choix des boissons est excellent. La situation est excellente par rapport à la ville, aux autres stations, aux clubs. Cela dépend de ce que vous aimez mais cela s'est dégradé par rapport aux années précédentes.

villa cuba- oh has it changed! This hotel has changed from 4 years ago, it is a little less value for your money. Although it was not busy and full of people, there were many 1-2 or week stay guests who were local Cubans, so if you spoke English you definitiely felt a minority. weekend time it was busier and buffet hard to get good food. the food in all is the same day in day out. fish, some kind of meat, rarely chicken or hamburgers. only one kind of bread. staff are nice, do tip, it will be appreciated. the ground are great and the pool, beach, some rooms well maintained and/or newly renovated. drink selection is excellent. location is excellent to town, to other resorts, to clubs. depends what you like but it has become worse from previous years.

Club Kawama: Déçu par l'hôtel

C'est l'endroit que j'ai le moins aimé jusqu'à présent. Il n'est pas très attrayant pour les yeux. Station en dessous de la moyenne. Les terrains ne sont pas bien entretenus. Les bâtiments ont besoin de travaux. Il pourrait y avoir un meilleur choix de nourriture. Ce complexe a besoin d'un peu de soins. La piscine était agréable et la plage était tout simplement magnifique. Dépensez un peu plus pour un meilleur complexe !

Disapointed in resort This was the least liked spot I've been to so far. It is not very appealing to the eyes. Below average resort. The grounds are not well maintained. Buildings need work. Could be a better selection of food. This resort needs some TLC. Pool was nice and beach was just beautiful. Spend a little more for a better resort!

Roc Barlovento: hôtel agréable et propre

Hotel Villa Cuba: Des vacances abordables

La mi-septembre n'est pas la meilleure période pour visiter Villa Cuba. Il n'y avait pas beaucoup de touristes et la nourriture a posé quelques problèmes à chacun d'entre nous. Le personnel est sympathique et les spectacles sont excellents. Nous avons eu 4 jours de pluie sur 7.

Affordable vacation Mid September is not the best time to visit Villa Cuba. There were not a lot of tourists and the food brought some problems to all of us. Friendly staff and great shows. We had 4 rainy days out of seven.

Club Kawama: Un grand moment

C'était la sixième fois que je venais à Cuba, je n'y suis donc pas étranger. La plage était magnifique, tout comme les gens. Je ne viens pas pour la nourriture car elle laisse toujours à désirer, mais j'ai toujours trouvé quelque chose à manger. Je retournerais bien au Club Kawama, mais je pense que je passerai ma prochaine visite à La Havane.

Great time This was my 6th time to cuba so I'm no stranger there. The beach was beautiful, and so were the people. I don't come for the food as it always leaves something to be desired, but I always found something to eat. I would return to club kawama, but I think I will spend my next visit in havana.
