J'ai passé un très bon moment dans ce complexe mais...

Nous avons passé un très bon moment au Mexique, mais j'aimerais souligner quelques points : -Nous avons eu une très belle chambre au 3ème étage (mais c'était trop pour monter les escaliers) du bâtiment 3 -Les restaurants ont une nourriture moyenne - nous avons surtout mangé au buffet et nous avons mangé deux soirs au Tortuga à la carte, qui est un steakhouse - nous avons adoré la viande ! comme il n'y a pas de réservations pour ce type de restaurants dans cet hôtel - il a tendance à y avoir bea [... lire plus]ucoup de monde quand vous arrivez. Ce n'est pas très bien organisé. -La plage était la meilleure !!!! Playa Maroma est de loin meilleure que Playa Paraiso où se trouvent les Iberostars (10-15 minutes de marche) !!! pas de rochers, l'eau est moins agitée et le sable est poudreux !!! notez que seule la partie privilégiée de la plage a des palapas ; l'autre partie n'a que des palmiers pour l'ombre. -Wi-Fi : disponible gratuitement dans tout le complexe, même à la plage, mais parfois lent -Divertissements nocturnes : ce n'est pas un complexe hôtelier où l'on recherche des divertissements - il y a de la musique certains jours dans le hall, mais j'ai été très déçu qu'un vendredi soir, il n'y en ait même pas. Le théâtre présente principalement des productions pour enfants et est diffusé tardivement - je ne sais pas pourquoi. Il n'y a pas grand chose à faire le soir. -L'hôtel est très propre et bien entretenu -75% des clients étaient européens - nous étions les seuls Canadiens à arriver le 17/5 au soir. -Nous ne sommes pas allés à la piscine -Les lits sont très confortables et vous avez un menu d'oreillers si vous êtes sur le plan privilégié.

Had a very nice time at this resort but... We had a very good time in Mexico but I'd like to point out a few things: -We were given a very nice room on the 3rd floor (but too much to walk up the stairs) on building 3 -The restaurants had average food -we mostly ate at the buffet and ate 2 nights at the a la carte Tortuga, which is a Steakhouse - loved the meat! as there are no reservations to these type of restaurants in this hotel-it tends to get crowded when you arrive there. It is not very well organized. -The beach was the best!!!! Playa Maroma is by far better than Playa Paraiso where the Iberostars are located (10-15 minutes walk)!!! no rocks, water less choppy and a powder sand!! note that only the Privileged are of the beach has palapas; the other area has only palm trees for shade. -Wi-Fi - available in all the resort for free, even at the beach!-sometimes can be slow -Night entertainment: this is not a resort if you want entertainment - they have some music on some days at the lobby but was very disappointed that on a Friday night they did not even have that. The theatre mainly shows kids's productions and are shown late-don't know why. Not much to do at night. -Resort is very clean and well kept -75% of the guests were European - we were the only Canadians to arrive on the 17/5 at night. -We did not go into the pool -Beds are very comfortable and you have a menu of pillows if you are on the Privileged plan.

Plage magnifique @ Catalonia Playa Maroma

Ce complexe est situé dans la jungle maya, avec une végétation luxuriante et des terrains bien entretenus. Il est agréable de marcher du hall principal et du buffet du petit déjeuner jusqu'aux piscines et à la plage, avec de nombreux coati pour vous divertir en chemin. Nous avons été surclassés en VIP dès notre arrivée et nous avons été ravis d'avoir une chambre plus proche des restaurants et de la plage. Le forfait VIP comprenait également des chaises longues et des transats dans une zone sépar [... lire plus]ée de la plage. Notre chambre n'était pas la plus luxueuse dans laquelle nous ayons séjourné, mais elle était propre et le lit était confortable. La plage est la principale raison pour laquelle nous avons réservé dans ce complexe. Notre agent de voyage nous l'avait recommandé pour cette raison et nous n'avons pas été déçus ! Le sable est blanc et doux comme de la poudre et semble s'étendre à l'infini ! J'ai adoré marcher le long de cette plage tous les matins. Passons maintenant à la deuxième chose la plus importante de vos vacances : la nourriture et les boissons. Dans tous les restaurants où nous avons mangé, la nourriture était toujours très bonne et le service excellent ! Toutes les personnes travaillant dans ce complexe hôtelier semblaient sincèrement heureuses d'être là et cela se reflétait dans leur service. Les boissons, bien sûr, étaient également toujours bonnes. Le rhum et la tequila sont de première qualité et les barmans ne sont jamais avares de leur service. Dans l'ensemble, nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce centre de villégiature et nous envisagerions d'y retourner.

Amazing Beach @ Catalonia Playa Maroma This resort is set back into the Mayan jungle with luscious vegetation and well kept grounds. It is a pleasant walk from the main lobby and breakfast buffet back to the pools and the beach with lots of coati to entertain you along the way. We upgraded to VIP as soon as we checked in and were glad to receive a room closer to the restaurants and the beach. The VIP package also included loungers and sun beds in a sectioned off area on the beach. Our room was not the fanciest we have stayed in but it was clean and the bed was comfortable, really what more could you ask for. The beach was the main reason we booked at this resort. This resort was recommended by our Travel Agent just for this reason and we were not disappointed! The sand is white and powder soft and seemed to go on forever! I loved walking along this beach every morning. Moving on to the second most important thing on your vacation, food and drinks. The food at all of the restaurants we ate at was always very good with top notch service! Everyone working at this resort seemed genuinely happy to be there and it reflected in their service. The drinks of coarse were also always good. Top shelf rum & tequila and the bartenders were never stingy with their pour. Overall we enjoyed this resort very much and would consider a return trip.
