Wonderful Resort

Just spent 14 beautiful days at this resort. The name " Excellence " says it all. Have been to other all inclusive resorts but this friendly staff is by far the best. We especially had some great chats with Junior. We enjoyed walking around their ecological park on the resort, feeding the fish, ducks and flamingos. We look forward to returning to this resort again.

Second Time a Charm

This was our second time and once again it was amazing. The service, food and amenities were excellent. I can't wait to go back next year. I understand that the resort is getting some updates and that will be wonderful. I hope they add more bathrooms at the beach area and provide softer beds. Also some faster internet service would be appreciated. The only annoying issue is the lack of non smoking areas. Specifically around the bar and entertainment areas. Otherwise this is the best res [... lire plus]ort that we have been too. It was our 9th visit to the DR so we have been to a few resorts. Love them and DR.

Excellence is excellent!

Loved our recent stay at Excellence Punta Cana. The service was exceptional and our room was beautifully maintained. The food was great and we loved the fact that we didn't need reservations for any of the 10 restaurants. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a table. We will definitely go back.

Amazing Resort

We visited the Excellence a long time ago , 17 years ago ,when it was associated with Secrets . We loved it then and we were not disappointed years later. The Excellence brand is a favourite . The club service makes the vacation special.

Mui Excellente

Just returned from Excellence Punta Cana and had an amazing time. Hotel is a little dated but they are revamping summer 2017 so looking forward to returning and seeing the new fresh look. The food was great, better than I was expecting for Dominican. You have to try the stuffed peppers at the Mediterranean restaurant and ask for Carlos he was unbelievable and went above and beyond to get everything we wanted including tracking down Ginger Ale. The beach is long and beautiful the ocean was a  [... lire plus]little rough but that was due to the time of year. The best thing was that no one harassed you to go to time share meetings or to book excursions we were left alone the entire time. The only things that I would complain about which will hopefully be changed when they revamp; not enough outlets in the room. There is one large sink with 2 faucets at either end which does take up most of the counter leaving little room for anything else. The biggest downfall of the room is the toilet there is a window that looks in from the bedroom thru the shower into the toilet so little awkward to go to the bathroom. Overall I would definitely return to this resort!!!

Amazing Resort!!!!!

I loved everything about this resort. The staff was frendly, the rooms were clean and nice, the food was delicous. Would go back in a second. The beach was beautiful and the pools were never overcrowded. You never needed a reservation for dinner. AMAZING!

Wonderful resort

This resort was amazing, and would definitely return to it. We had never been to Dominican Republic. We were very impressed as soon as we walked off the plane. The airport was one of the nicest we have been in, and we had no line ups. We had stopped at a few resorts on our way to Excellence and when we drove in, we were in awe. The greeting, the excellence club concierge, our accommodations, and the entire resort was more than we expected. We have been to Sandals and they gave us more persona [... lire plus]ble treatment. At our anniversary dinner, we were given the Royal treatment, which we hadn't received before. They even exchanged a bottle of whiskey that I like, rather than scotch. Sandals never did that.

Excellance All the Way!!!!

We just got back from our 7 day vacation and we loved this resort. Beautiful pools and we'll kept grounds not to mention the friendly staff. Looking forward to going back one day. The Excellance Punta Cana is our favorite Adults Only.

Best Resort We've Been Too

The food - Amazing, especially the seafood. The restaurants were all solid. Buffet was typical but above average. Pools - The main pool is huge and busy. Try the smaller one for a calmer atmosphere and more private bar. Entertainment - The shows were fantastic and much better than expected. These performers are skilled! Rooms - Getting a little dated, but wonderful big tubs, marble showers and updated fixtures. Beds are comfy with lots of pillow choice. Lots of space. Resort and  [... lire plus]grounds - Beautifully maintained grounds and lots of space for wandering the resort. The lobby and buildings are unique and well maintained. You are never out doors, yet everything is open air. Bars - All great, and suit every need and every area of the resort. Service - Excellent all around.

The best in Cayo St Maria

Beautiful grounds kept impeccable by the hardworking gardeners, excellent food and drinks, the beaches are pristine and the service is top notch. This was our 4th time and we plan to return in a few months to see all our dear friends - Danny, Pavel, Niumy, Adonis, Damarys, Osneil, Alberto - if you chose to come here, THERE are the people you wanna meet!

Excellent stay at the excellence

The staff are friendly (& work hard so you have a good time), the food is good (lots of variety) & the drinks are strong. Lots to do, there's something for every1! great spa, nice beach, swim up bar (you can make lots of friends there), there's little bars all over the place that are quieter too. If you go to the hut down the beach you can haggle with Ricky and alex who are some of the people running the hut. Theres fun shows to watch in the night and it's usually followed by a band or perf [... lire plus]ormer. The disco is popular depending on the crowd. The djs will take whatever request you want The Tuscana restaraunt has a buffet and is 1 of the best buffets I've ever had and i have had sone dam good buffet. If you're eating anything, you should eat the seafood because it is top notch. Some of the food styles they don't do so well because it's a completely different culture to them but it's totally forgiven. Chez Isabelle probably had the best food overall. The pizzas at oregano are great and have a lot of cheese! The staff seem to have a good time as well, everyone is friendly and if you ask how they are, they'll say "excellente!" And I know by the end of it I said it too! tip the staff whay you think they deserve, don't bother converting money and if you want to go on an excursion or tour, you can definitely haggle a great price. Talk to the concierge about extra things too. Tip the staff and they'll remember you and sometimes give you a little something extra.

Great resort, grey vacation

We just returned from the Excellence resort and this was our first trip to an all inclusive resort. This is a fantastic resort and we will definetly be going back as soon as we can. When we arrived, we had a shuttle ride to the resort with a number of other couples. The Excellence was the last resort for the shuttle so we had a quick view of the entrance to 3 other resorts As we dropped people off. At first I thought all the resorts were very impressive with beautiful grounds and lovely front e [... lire plus]ntrances, but that changed when we arrived at Excellence. The first noticeable difference was the security. They confirmed who we were before we were even allowed on the property ( none of this happened at the other resorts). The other big difference was in the up keep of the grounds. The grounds, gardens, walkways that we saw just driving in were perfect - not a weed or uncut grass anywhere. Once we were in the resort it was the same quality everywhere - Staff were cleaning and maintaining the grounds all the time. The beach was hand raked every morning around the loungers and the main beach area was machine groomed. Walkways were swept and mopped regularly and the pools cleaned daily. I am an early riser so I saw all the hard work being done by the staff before most people even woke up. We stayed in building 14, 2nd floor with a garden room. We did not upgrade to the Excellence Club and it was not needed in my opinion. The room was at the far end of the resort and was very quiet and the wifi was fine. The room was lovely and was cleaned every day and our fridge was always refilled. Even our special request for extra water and Diet Coke was fulfilled immediately and always maintained. We also had someone show up for turn down service every day. Some reviews complained that rooms weren't cleaned or towels replaced. They do have notes that any towels left in the tub will be replaced and we always left the "clean room" card in the door when we went out. We were not able to go to all of the restaurants but we did not have a bad meal at any of the ones we went to. We went to both the Lobster house and Toscana for breakfast. We also went to Las Olas and Toscana for lunches. The buffet at Toscana was always different with a good mix of choices. For dinner we went to Toscana, Flavor Market, Oregano, Chez Isabelle, and the Grill. The Chateaubriand was fantastic at Chez Isabelle and we loved sampling everything at the Flavor Market. My only advice to anyone going is be open to trying different foods and you will have some great meals. We also used room service a few times and the food was great. Sometimes it took a little while longer than they said it would but these were at peak times (after the shows when everyone goes back to their rooms). We also enjoyed the meal and entertainment outside for the "White" event. My wife and I had a couples massage and hydro jet treatment at Miile Spa. It was a very enjoyable experience in a beautiful facility. We did wait for one of the daily specials because we did find the spa a little pricey. My wife and I also had a couple's massage ay Nancy's off the resort (immediately to the left of the resort). It looks a little rough, but Sandy does not pressure you to buy anything and Maria and Ingra give a great massage on the second floor ($110 for a couple - a lot less than resorts spa). When we were leaving we ran into some people at the airport that arrived at the same time we did. As we were waiting to board the plane we compared our experiences at the different resorts. It was clear that Excellence was a step above all the rest in terms of service and facilities. This was a great trip for my wife and I, and we were sad to leave, but we will definitely be going back to Excellence Thank you Susan for recommending this resort P Please consider the impact on the environment before printing this email or its attachments

Lives up to its name!

We stayed at this resort for 7 days and each day, we loved it even more. From the beautiful beach, great restaurants, superb entertainment and excellent service all around makes it difficult to rate this any less than excellent. Probably the best resort experience we have had yet!

Good

This was the first time we go to a Excellence resort and was some what disappointing of the wow factor when we entered the lobby as well as the resort seemed dated it was okay but have been to better resorts and paid half the money, of course the staff are always great, the food was good.

Best resort in Punta Cana

Amazing food and Drink. No reservations for meals, premium drinks! Excellent house red Gatonegro! Entertainment shows on the evening were entertaining, those that won different games throughout the day were awarded prizes.

Excellent Vacation at Excellence Resort

This resort is phenomenal! I had the best vacation of my life. The staff is very attentive to all your requests and needs. There were more restaurants than we had nights available to try them all, and the food was fresh and very well prepared. The spa was quite luxurious, my wife went for several appointments. The beach is better for playing in the surf than swimming, but that is what we wanted as it is also quite picturesque. It is an adults only resort that seems to cater to couples, or at lea [... lire plus]st pairs. The entertainment staff are very lively and put on great shows. I don't think we will ever go anywhere else after staying at the Excellence.

Excellence all round

This was our 4th stay at Excellence Punta Cana and well, each time is a joy. It is always windy and large waves and this time was no different. It did calm towards the end of the week and was quite pleasant and hot.

Gorgeous Beach and Fab Resort!

Had a great time at this fabulous resort - the beach was beautiful and long - rough waves but that's okay with us. Lots of place to relax here and no fighting for chairs at beach or pool. Staff were friendly and helpful, always with a smile. Premium liquors, great martinis! A wonderful relaxing time here, would def. recommend!

Perfect Resort

It has been our third year at The Excellence so I don't think I need to say anymore. Would I go back, absolutely. The service, food and atmosphere are very relaxing. It is a great place to get away and everyone is very friendly.

Excellent Resort

This was our first trip to the Excellence. We have travelled many times to the D.R. and this was by far the best trip that we had. The food and service could not have been better. Can't wait to go again.
