5 star staff!

The hotel is in need of repair and updating, however it's very clean and the setting is beautiful. The food choice was very limited compared to 5 previous visits. I say it's a 3 star hotel with a 5 star staff .

Fantastic.. As Usual

Very relaxing and great fun. Staff were awesome. Food was the best in Cuba. Rooms very nice with oceanview. Evening shows were outstanding. The lobby bar with piano was great. Able to relax before dinner. New friens were met. Worth evey penny and more. Fantasic. This was my second visit, I can't wait to go back

Great view clean room nice landscaped,

been in cuba six times like this location,good service, clean room food is like most Cuban resort or you go to a five star like I did melia at varadero but I do not go to cuba for there food is the weather I love it herb from canada

Needs a little face lift

I found the service,and staff to be very good, unfortunatly the food was not that great with the exception of the fish served on a daily basis, my wife took it as a good thing, as she lost 10lbs in 1 week.the rooms also need an upgrade, this is the 4th time at the resort and it continues to go down hill, the elevators were working this time.

Great vacation - great staff

Resort is tired,however they seem to be doing repairs. The staff were very friendly and very very accomadating. We found they went out of their way to try and help you. We will definitely go back again.

Great place super clean

This was our first time to brisassierra siara mar and we had an amazing time . The place was very clean and the people were super nice . We liked that the resort was spread out and lots of entertainment . There are a lot of stairs but the elavater relieved that . We had a pig roast on the beach with dancing , lots of fun . The beach was very private no locals.the food was very good we had bbq fish at lunch and buffet at dinner and the alacarts were awsome . Lots of nice people and an amazing sta [... lire plus]y we will return next year!!!!!!

Simply Fantastic!!!

Everything about our vacation was fantastic Our drive to the hotel was great - the roads have been redone so it was very smooth! The hotel is beautiful and comfortable. The food was good and satisfying - better than other resorts we've stayed at The beach is beautiful - tons of sand has been added and they've built beach huts for added shade and beauty The shows we're fun and entertaining - a good mix for night time entertainment. Recommend: do the moped tour. Rent them for a day and go on your  [... lire plus]own - it is so worth it. Horse back riding is a wonderful experience as well. Go into Chivrico on a Saturday night and take part in the local party. What makes this hotel so nice is that it is situated on a mountain and the people there have been coming for many years so everyone is friendly and it's easy to make friends.

Had a Great Trip

Sierra Mar is always a pleasure. Small relaxed and enjoyable. Cant wait to go back. Staff is always friendly and will go way out of there way for you. Been there several times and will definitely be going back again

Chilled, enjoyable and friendly

Older crowd so great for those who are looking to relax. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was what you would expect from a 3 star but the grill by the beach had some tasty manga. Great snorkeling and the most magnificent views! All in all an absolute steal for the price. Had a great time!

Incredible cultural experience in the villages

Resort staff are very friendly and attentive. Best entertainment in Cuba! They have kept it authentically Cuban. Magic show is great. Our kids loved the resort for the two weeks in December 2014. If you love horseback riding, local life, snorkeling, scuba and just relaxing this is the place. We are returning in December with the kids!

Truly enjoyable

My husband and I just returned from Brisas Sierre Mar and we had a wonderful time, loved the snorkeling. Enjoyed the paddle boats, bikes and kayaks. Food was tasty and there was certainly enough variety to be had.Rooms very dated but clean. Staff could not have been nicer both in the hotel and on the beach. Entertainment was super... Our first visit there and planning on a return trip in the near future...the view from our room was spectacular and the sunsets were breath taking..

Little piece of heaven

The weather was great and the grounds were beatutiful and peaceful. The hotel is a little older, but clean, and the food was above average for Cuba. They get a lot of repeat business, seems like the weather is almost guaranteed, and the staff is very nice and chatty if you show an interest.

Bria's sierra mar

Scenery was outstanding. Service and people very kind and nice. There were a lot of repeat vacationers. Food was ok but 3 of our party got sick. Elevators were not working apron arrival, 3 days later they were working. Recommend for scenery, but not for people who cannot climb stairs.

Negative reviews are false!

This hotel is a gem!. Other reviews state hotel is dated and gearing down..this is just not true! Staff resort and food were amazing! However, if it was not for trip central, this vacation would not have been possible! Everything was seamless front ticket purchase to return

Really enjoyed my stay there

Beautiful location /scenery. It wasn't a full season when I was there so it was nice and quiet. Food was tasty but not much choice. Excellent service , beautiful dancing/ performances. Many steps/ staircase going down to the beach but my legs got much stronger because of that. (You can also use the elevator). Would like to go there again.

Amazing location

Location of hotel is amazing,at hotel there is a lot of maintenance work to be done,water is leaking on corridors. Also in the middle of evening show when all guests are sitting together whatching show they decided to spray resort for mosquitos,that could wait about 30 min until show is over.

What a surprise!!

This was my 5th trip to this resort this year. On our second night we returned from dinner to find a Cuban security guard in our room who had broken in thru the patio doors. We were able to pick him out the next day and was then fired from the hotel. The staff were very comforting. We had the maintenance staff give us 2 pieces of wood to be placed in the patio doors to ensure our security. At this point not sure about travelling by myself again. This certainly ruined the remainder of our week. I [... lire plus]t is our hope that the hotel will take a look at the patio doors and put a plan in place to ensure the future security of the tourists.

Clean with amazing scenery

Brisas Sierra Mar was no doubt an amazing resort in its younger days. It has grown tired and in desperate need of some updates. That being said, the hotel is very clean, rooms typical, the food was very good (I have never said that about the food at any hotel in Cuba), staff was very warm and friendly and the view of the mountains and ocean is amazing. The beach has very dark sand unlike most beaches in Cuba so you don't get the turquoise picture perfect looking beach. Water was beautiful and wa [... lire plus]rm. Bring mosquito repellent as many people were getting bit at the beach. Lastly, my only real complaint is that on the weekend, the resort allows locals to pay a day/weekend rate to use the resort. The only reason I have issue with this is because most of the locals who visit seem to have no respect for the resort or anyone staying there. Many were rude and left garbage and cigarette butts everywhere. Resort staff quickly tried to clean up but were clearly unimpressed. This only occurs on weekends so it's not the end of the world and for the price, it's really not a bad deal for a quick, cheap getaway. I would not make this my "be all" trip of the year but definitely a great side trip for some R&R at a cheap price.

Great value for the $$

The resort is clean, the people are really nice. Manuel in the dive shop is a star and diving the maze was like walking through a forest - great coral. The food wasn't bad for off season and Cuba. The elevator was working the majority of the time.

The hotel it self need a lot of fixing, water was dripping from roof to hallways making them very slippery. Elevators were working most of the time but not when you really need them! Stairs were not covered and when you need to go 4 or 5 floors up or down in rain not real fun. Not recommended for people with limited mobility. Beach very small, dark sand and full of seaweed, plus lots of sand flees. Very limited shade by the pool area, but lots of chairs. Away from any village or town and no reas [... lire plus]onable priced transportation available, unless you take a tour which are pricy and run only if have enough people. The staff were very good and accommodating, food variety “like old Cuba” but OK for the “sale price” I paid
