Disappointment

Arrived Jan 3-10 temptations miches punta Cana. No reply from sunwing or trip central that the resort changed ownership and was closing Jan 15. Resort was literally empty after 3nights and supply on the resort was cut back due to closing. Will rethink booking sunwing and trip central next trip. Glenn Winnipeg.

Renewed Lease on Life

My Husband and I are Seniors and were worried that we would be considered too old for this resort, nothing could be further from the truth. Hands down most all the Staff at Temptations can not do enough to ensure you are having your best possible vacation. I will not mention any names because this this review would be filled up with them. My only negative experience was due to the non-documented, $200 USD deposit, required by the hotel, that we did not budget for. Many other Canadians and Ameri [... lire plus]cans were also upset about this. Thank you to management for accommodating us. Also, we were really stressed that our jackets and pillows went missing from the cart, during our room change. Grateful that they were recovered, Thank you Guest Services. Miches approx. 1.5 hrs from the Punta Cana airport. Beach: Beautiful and natural. When facing the aqua-green ocean, you can walk (right) for miles on the soft brown sand that is lined with palm trees. There is a rocky man- made barrier (left) that divides the hotel from the beach area of the little town of Miches. Please note that this is not a pebbled beach and or, filled with rocks and you do not need water shoes in the Ocean or, otherwise. This area is not commercial, so if you are a true beach person, love nature and raw natural beach like we do, you will love it. No sargassum issues in the Ocean and Staff work hard to keep the sand groomed. Pools: The sexy pool is well kept, and seriously hilarious, best belly laughs of my life. I loved it when the beautiful, full of life Dominican people were there; they gave me a new lease on life and taught me that you are never too old to dance, let that inner Goddess out and enjoy life; this pool is booming and very entertaining. The Staff do a fantastic job. The quiet pool has yellow tiles and is primarily surrounded by beautiful green foliage, these colours give the impression that the water is green with algae; it is not and both pools as well as the infinity pools are cleaned daily. The Staff work very hard keeping this hotel clean, if you are an early riser like we were, you will see that. No towel card and limits on towels needed. Room: We changed to 4310 with a King bed. Partial view of the ocean. Bed very comfortable with a separate bathroom area. Rain shower and handheld wand. Shampoo, Body wash, Conditioner, Toothbrush/paste, Shaving kit, Q-tips/make up pad remover, soap all provided and replenished as needed. Room also has free digital safe, Coffee maker (need to use 2 pods), Tea, Fridge, Alarm clock, TV including porn channels and Steamer for clothes. Food & Bars: If you go hungry or, thirsty at this resort, it is by choice. Fantastic Starbuck type coffee shop that provides Cappuccino, variety of Tea’s, freshly juiced bottled veggies, fresh fruit, pastries, cakes, sandwiches. Breakfast & Lunch buffet has a good variety of choices to suit most dietary needs. Snack bar close to the sexy pool has a decent variety, including salad and cooked veggies. The Dinner Buffet only runs twice a week (Friday and Saturday), except for Xmas eve which was totally amazing. The hotel and staff went all out and could rattle any cruise ship with the effort made. “SHE” was totally amazing, the show was like being at Sexy Circus Soleil, just the correct timing between courses, almost forgot to eat, lol. Enjoyed the Sushi and Italian a-la-cart, not so much the steak house. I would strongly suggest a mini salad bar to accommodate different dietary needs, due to Evening Buffet not always being available. Entertainment and Shows: The Entertainers go all out, work very hard and are fabulous. After the show there is dancing and many Guests dress up and tap into their eccentric sides. This hotel has a strict privacy policy, so no picture taking of other Guests. My Husband and I hope to go back for our 44th wedding Anniversary. Apparently in mid January 2024 there is going to be a new owner/ brand name change. They will have big shoes to fill.

Terrible resort

For a resort that is 1yr old…I see it being run down in 5. There was only a an average of 150 people the whole time. Weather in that area is cool and rainy. Drive from airport is 1.5 hrs away and in bad roads. Food, terrible, drinks gross. Overall a disappointing trip. All the negative reviews I heard before the trip, happened to be true. I do not recommend nor would I ever tell my friends to go.

Lots of fun

Very good time ..pool games were beyond excellent..but very far from town this place is best for people that don't want to leave resort..food was good ..service excellent..our room leaked from the shower above but we did not complain..great night life..pool is great ..beach is not the best

Okay resort

Needed more shows at night. Not everyone likes club entertainment. Different entertainment at night. Too much pool shows beach need more activities also. The resort overall is okay it don’t seem as it looks

It is ok!

OMG the place is great! Fantastic Idea! Great atmosphere but poor execution! It is like they created a resort in an area of no other resorts and they want to rape you for any excursion or real food? We have been to Punta Cana area every year in the past five years and the food here is for sure the worst! Horribly over cooked no beef that was not road kill or it very similar. Every thing except the Italian restaurant was poor! The Sutra or cook at a table oriental attempt at meal was a 2 star a [... lire plus]t the most.... they over cooked every protean in your face,,,,, they massacred the best part being shrimp. This place is trying to become a fun place for adults but they have the RIP OFF approach to all there extra prices that are less than half in more populated centers like Punta Cana for example a 3 hour boat party boat cruise with snorkeling at the hotel was $300 US for 3 hours with drinks..... same thing in Punta Cana $100.... no taxis,,, massage for a couple $450 steak dinner $ from 65+. The steak house is the worst I am a BBQ nut in Canada cooking steaks for family every weekend for 6-12 people so I know steak! These folks serving the first dinner service at 7 pm ran out of strip lions and proceeded to serve me the last of 6 folks a picante cut which sucked just from looking at! It took 15-20 mins of arguing to convince the waiter this is not what I ordered.... y issues and not his....20 mins later i get a knocked down version of a rib steak in lieu of there mistake but the waiter tried to convince the table it was my mistake in Spanish and would no longer speak to me in English

Worst resort i’ve ever stayed at

no one was there, the food was horrible and the resort was over an hour and a half from the airport, the entertainment was subpar at best and the rooms were disgusting and had bugs everywhere. ended up changing hotels to majestic colonial and had the best experience of my life, other than getting charged an additional $1700 to switch resorts

Amazing Resort

This resort is fantastic. It is an adult-only resort, so you had better check things out. The theme nights are great if you like to dress up. The staff go out of their way to please you and are always smiling and very friendly. I have to say that Joel and Lessly were the best. The food was fantastic, especially at the restaurant Flame. Get the steak it's to die for. The rooms are gorgeous, with a walk-in shower, and it is huge. They put a bracelet on your wrist, and that is the key to your  [... lire plus]room, how awesome is that? The beach is absolutely amazing. Go in the mornings it is not as windy. In the afternoon it gets windier and sometimes the umbrellas can fall. Keep an eye out, that's all. Never had a problem with finding lounging chairs. There is security everywhere. So, it is really safe. The only issue we had was that the music was too loud and made it hard to socialize. The drive from the airport was an Hour and a Half long, so 3 really cold beers and you were there. Everything is new at this resort. It had issues opening up because of hurricane Fiona. So, if you're going to complain about some scratching in the paint or chips in the walls, then go to another country. It has only been open for 2 months. Open-minded people need to go to this resort to see it and experience the adult atmosphere.

First time at Temptations and loved it!

This was our first trip to Temptations. It was amazing and I don't know where to begin. It was at 40% capacity. -1 hour and 10 min from airport-loved the scenic ride-grabbed 2 Presidente each for the ride. "Check in was easy and we met Alejandro (butler) immediatley and he took us to our room. He was amazing the entire time we were there. We are not a couple that ever utilizes the "butler" but ALEJANDRO was the BEST. He made us feel comfortable and he was just so personable. He checked in eve [... lire plus]ry morning and one morning I wasn't feeling well ( this might be TMI but I had a bladder infection) He said he could help me and he went to the pharmacy to get me antibiotics and brought them to me right away! ( had no idea we could even get antibiotics without a prescrption-anyway he was a life saver!) There were no small bills available at the front desk and I mentioned to him so he got some for us when he went home. This guy was just amazing and so kind! The room- AC was perfect, the bed wa so comfortable and I loved the sheets and pillows. They even had a night service where they would ask if we needed extra towels or anything! We had a swim up in building 4 which I loved because we go to the beach till 3 or 4 pm and then the sun is on our deck all afternoon till sun goes down. Morning we like to have coffee on the deck and the sun is on building 5 and 6 at that time. So we did use room service every day :). The food-was amazing. I loved all the restaurants and yes the morning buffet had lots to choose from (hard time to get butter) The SHE restaurant had fantastic food and a very unique dining experience-be sure to make your reservation! The staff-my Goodness everyone was so pleasant and friendly-by far the BEST SERVICE we have encountered and we have been to 7 different DR resorts. We are not the outgoing couple that talks to people and yet they would remember our names, say hello, ask if we needed anything, joked around. The play makers, Wanda, Popeye, Spicy, Bartender at beach Glennys (love her) waiter Deilin, all the hostesses, the maseuse, Julianna-I wish I could remember everyones names! Entertainment-so we were here for 10 days and only went out 2 nights LOL ( Burning Land and Latin night) it does not start unti 10:30. I did enjoy the shows and I loved seeing the resort guests go all out with their outfits and costumes. The day time pool events were so much fun to watch. It really is the same as any other fun resort except the adult pool bar games are hillarious and fun to watch. The beach-my favourite part. we walked down the beach every day, one day we walked for 1 1/2 hrs one way and the turned around to come back-bring your yetti! The horses would run up the beach randomly and not once did we see poop( weird) and the dogs seem so socialized and well behaved, even the ones further down the beach. I went into the ocean almost every day. I would definitely return.

Surprised it is new...

Room: dirty, cigarette burns on the carpet, shoddy workmanship, pubic hair on the floor never cleaned. Seems like they rushed the finishing work (ie, grout slopped and left to dry on top of tiles, paint sloppy, doors not installed properly. I had to fix the toilet on first night as it was not installed properly) Food: Very good overall. Pools: discusting, dirty swampy water, broken tiles. Beach: beautiful, Sandy, no seaweed. Staff: friendly and helpful for the most part. Location [... lire plus]: pretty area, mountains nearby. 1.5 hr drive approx from airport.
